To be fair the painting was done well, but it was not done by him which is probably why it came out good. My table FINALLY showed up in the beginning of October and the stain job was atrocious. It literally looked like he took brown paint and painted it (I have photos if he disputes this). The table was also insanely uneven in terms of color and smoothness. There were paint bubbles everywhere and rough spots all over the place. When it arrived I was in shock at how bad it looked and my wife actually had to leave the house. Once he left I let him know he needed to come get it and make it lighter. His reply was either one night the next week or the following weekend. Naturally, and true to form, I did not hear from him so we had to keep staring at this disaster. Finally I had enough and stripped the table myself and re-did it. I had paid Ed 4k for the materials for all the work and given how poorly the table came out I was not about to let him do more work on my house. Painting is one, thing, but installing built-ins was another and he clearly is not qualified, at least from what i saw with my table. Ed has refused to give me my money back so I will be suing him. At the end of the day there are too many good contractors out there to waste your time on him. He is not a good guy and is unethical.
Description of Work: I hired Ed to build a table and chairs, paint and build built-ins. I hired him on July 4th and everything was supposed to be done by mid-September. Granted he had a personal situation come up which was fine but the delay should not have been more than a week.
