Sean is professional, knows what he's doing and does the job with excellence. He listens to what the customer wants and works with you on decision making as far as stain colors and what kind of finish to put on the floor. He also is very fair in his pricing and responds quickly to emails and calls. I would give him the highest recommendation.

We were replacing carpeting in the living room/dining room , family room and office. We already had hardwood in foyer and half bath so we wanted it to look seamless- as if it was all done at the same time. Sean came and gave us an estimate and started work shortly after that. He removed all the old carpet, hauled it away , moved all the furniture and installed all new hardwood. He was very accommodating to our schedule , was always on the job when he said he would and cleaned up afterwards. The floors look just fantastic- you'd never know they weren't installed at the time as the existing hardwood. He also installed the trim for a completely finished look. The final price for the materials and installation was exactly what he quoted.

We got five estimates for this work and couldn't be more pleased with Emerald Hardwood Floors. Sean O'Leary did all the work himself, from the estimate (which was extremely competitive) to the installation to the finish work. He ripped out our old kitchen floor, including the old sub-floor, and installed new red oak unfinished hardwood. He weaved the new floor into the existing floor from the den for a seamless transition, then sanded the den and kitchen floors and put down 4 coats of polyurethane. At the end of each workday, Sean left the area spotless, which my wife greatly appreciated. For all the sanding that was done, there was no dust anywhere. Sean ran into a snag because (of course, like everything else in our house) our kitchen cabinets were installed in an unusual way. Sean took it all in stride and even had to purchase a special toe-kick saw just for our job. The floors look great, like they were laid down at the same time as opposed to 35+ years apart. We are very happy we chose Sean for this work. He was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend Sean and Emerald Hardwood Floors without reservation.

It is a rare experience indeed to find a skilled craftsman who not only excels at what he or she does, but also is respectful, tidy, and extremely conscientious. Sean O'Leary is one of those exceptional people. We called in a number of floor refinishers, since we just moved into a new home and wanted to be sure we would get a professional job. Since we had no recommendations from friends, we turned to Angie's List. There wasn't much to choose from, so we also went through the yellow pages. When we called Emerald Hardwood Floors, we instantly felt we found the right person for the job. When Sean showed up to give us the estimate, he listened to our ideas, and then made very useful suggestions. We hired him for the job, and couldn't have been happier. We have seen sanded floors in our friends' homes, and we know it takes skill to evenly sand them. Our floors are absolutely perfect, with no dips or rough spots. He put on a stain that perfectly matched the existing hallway, and then put on four coats of Dura Seal, which we found out was a high quality polyurethane. (The other floor estimates we received included a lesser quality.) When the floors were finished, we couldn't believe how magnificent they looked. Not only that, the floor he installed was much better than the original floors. Who said that they made things better in the old days??? Sean neatly cleaned up at the end of each day, and swept the area. There was no noticeable dust in the air, and no traces of dust on our windows.

We would highly recommend Sean for installation of hardwood floors and/or refinishing.In a day and age when you hope someone does what they say they will, this man far exceeded all expectations!!! It was a pleasure meeting such a pleasant young man, and we would definitely hire him again.
