I must say that I read the reviews and was impressed by them. That was my sole reason for choosing Eastern Glass Block. I spoke with Ron (the owner) who immediately set up a time for someone to come do measurements which was February 25th at 12. That morning Ron called and asked if it could possibly be pushed back til 1:30. That was fine with me. The gentleman was slightly late but it was due to traffic which I completely understand. He told me Ron had fussed at him but he had tried his best to get there on time. He was very nice and had me laughing. I spoke back to Ron after the measurements who gave me the price and stated his guys would be there March 1st. I was very happy with the date because I desperately needed the windows and thought it may take longer. On that morning Ron called to let me know what time the installers (Pedro and Carlos) would be there. They were definitely on time and were very friendly. Once the work was completed, I was asked to make sure it was done the way I wanted it. I was and am very happy and pleased with the look and overall professionalism from Ron and his workers. I am definitely going to use Eastern Glass Block again and would refer them!

To start I'd like to say that I am very happy with the work that was done.  I had terrible windows in my basement that did not open.  Now I have beautiful, safe, secure windows that can open.  The guys from Eastern Glass Block got the job done in one day.  They did a good job cleaning up, too.  The finishing is impeccable.  They went above and beyond what they had to do to.  I laugh to myself every time I look at them.  I thought I'd try to do the work myself.  Then I see the quality of work these guys did and I'm so glad I didn't attempt it.  

Ron Clelland , the owner of Eastern Block was instantly communicative and professional.  The workmen(crew) he sent were also very professional, and gave us confidence that the work they were doing was exactly what we needed to solve our (mold) problem.  And the job was completed on time and did outstanding work. We are very happy and couldn't have asked for better. Thank you so much Ron and Company.

When contacting Ron he as able to send someone out for an estimate the next day. He then gave me a estimate over the phone after measuring the windows for $1200. Because my mom is a senior citizen he offered her a senior citizen discount of $50.
Ron then Scheduled the work two days later. The Crew arrived on time and were able to install the windows earlier than estimated.  The work crew was very professional.  They were very careful and meticulous about the plants outside the windows that they were installing.  The work was completed in the amount of time that he said it would be done.  Everything was cleaned up.  The windows are awesome.
I am very happy with the quality of work that was provided.

Originally they were to be installed on 8/1 but Ron called early to let me know that the rain would not allow it so it was put off until the 12th.  Ron called early on the 12th to say that they (Carlos and Nelson) would be there between 10 and 11 depending on the traffic. I was surprised because it was pouring rain at the time but he assured me that conditions would be all right and they were. The weather cleared by the time they arrived a little after10. I had assumed that the glass block window would be ready-made but they were not.  The only thing that I did not like was that two different sizes of glass block were used.  I was told it was because the windows were almost two inches different in height which was true. When they finished, they explained that I was to give the windows at least 24 hours to set.
Regarding the price-Ron quoted me $900 but did give me a senior discount when asked for one.
Since they were out of state I was leery about using them but Ron emailed me proof that they were licensed in all of N.J. and in my state each county has its own licensing.
I would also like to add that in my area, the people were not responsive and would only have put in ready made windows.  I never got a price from the two people contacted.

Their service was excellent! They were very good. I would say it was quality service and fair price. They were very prompt returning phone calls. The estimate they gave before they did the work was very thorough. Very clear on explaining why it needed to get done and exactly what they would have to do and how long it would take.

Ron visited us and clearly explained all the options. The next day he called us with a quote that specified exactly the work to be done.
On day one, Rick arrived to install the door. He did a masterful job and left the place completely clean at the end of the day. The next day Carlos, Ron's glass block installer, arrived on time and stayed late to keep to the schedule Ron had outlined for us. The next day he also arrived at the agreed upon time and completed the installation exactly as Ron had outlined. We're delighted with the quality of work we received from Eastern Glass Block. Ron is a terrific businessman.

Absolutely great.  Ron was patient with my necessity to communicate only by e-mail during the work day,  Nelson was prompt and efficient when making the estimate.  Scheduling was prompt and easy.  Nelson and Carlos did a beautiful job putting in the windows, and cleaning up after.  It looks really nice, I'm very pleased.

Ron, the company president, came out to give me an estimate. He was very upfront and thorough, and I felt comfortable with what he told me. He seemed a little taken aback when I asked for a written contract, but wrote one up on the spot anyway. They called to follow up a week later, and I placed my order, along with the required $500 deposit. On installation day, the installers showed up on time. However, they didn't seem to speak much English, and I had to inform them they were looking at the wrong windows. With that cleared up, they set to work - without much of a break - for about 6 hours, installing the new glass blocks. I was impressed by their work ethic, but when they had questions the language barrier seemed pretty steep. The previous owner had run some wires through the old window sills, wires we had since disconnected. The installers, unfortunately, didn't ask before running them through the mortar. I noticed before the mortar dried, and was able to take the wires out and re-pack the mortar. Overall, they did a nice job, and the windows seem very securely installed.

The salesman was very professional and on time. The price was fair market. The installers came on time but were very messy. The glass blocks appear to be installed correctly (I"ll know better this winter) but the debris left behind was outrageous, piles of broken glass, many spacers, chunks of wood. Unfortunately, I was not home during the installation. My 21 year old son was suppose to supervise which means apparently no supervision. Perhaps, if I had been there, the installers would have done a better job.
