I had an excellent experience overall with Colonial. They conducted a complex, three-stop, multi-floor, walk-up, move. Their moving crew was fantastic.
Boris Campillo, and his whole moving team deserve strong praise for their work. If you have the opportunity, request them. They went above and beyond for us. They are excellent representatives for Colonial Moving and Storage, and Mayflower. I have had some mediocre experiences in the past with movers, but still balked at paying big-name mover prices. The labeling system and systems for carrying furniture were an improvement on past experience, but the real benefits to a Mayflower move are the people who put these systems into practice. Mr. Campillo's team did it right. They were efficient, focused, careful, they listened to our concerns, and made a concerted effort to accommodate our wishes. Boris and his team displayed superior logistical skill, attention to detail, and consideration for our things. We had a baby with us during the move and we were more anxious than usual. He and his team went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The Colonial moving team worked cohesively, and I noticed they communicated very effectively and efficiently about how they would handle our things. Seeing that made me breath a sigh of relief. All of the gentlemen on the team were hard-working, polite, considerate, and skilled.
Our estimator was good, but perhaps in a rush to slot us in for the weekend there were some unfortunate misspellings and exclusions of non-essential data on our draft agreement/contract, after calling to correct this, the corrected contract was not forwarded to the moving team on the loading day, so corrections had to be made and initialed on the spot, which caused a little uneasiness. I am by-the-book, when it comes to paperwork, so this was annoying, but I can report it didn't impact the terms of our agreement, or the move. The price may have been a bit more expensive than another merely satisfactory mover, but we feel we got value for it. We went with Colonial in-part because of the Mayflower reputation and I wanted a trustworthy fixed estimate for the move.
Colonial/Mayflower made good on their estimate, and exceeded our expectations for quality and service, we are very pleased with the results.

I was very dissatisfied with this company. They broke several pieces of property. When they unloaded the property they just dumped it in the middle of the floor. They set up my father?s hospital bed the wrong way also. The movers couldn?t communicate with us because they didn?t speak English. I will never use this company again.
