Frank Klimaszewski Carpentry

Frank and his team did excellent work of tearing down an old cedar deck and building a Trex deck. Did a great job of guiding me thru the process of choosing the color schematic of the deck, and options for railing. Due to Covid-19 not all material was available at the same time, Frank was always in contact to let me know the status of material being available so the job could move forward. Easy going and always available to answer any questions you may have about your project. Makes sure you are 100% satisfied. Highly recommend!

Frank replaced all the windows in my house and remodeled my kitchen and bathroom. He is easy to work with, is honest about what work can be done and what may not be necessary. He was in constant contact with us and made sure the jobs were done efficiently. When our house flooded and we needed to gut and redo the entire interior, of course we called Frank back to do the work. He helped us work with the insurance company to complete the renovation and cut through as much red tape as possible. The results were amazing. If you have not been through renovations before, Frank personally walks you through the whole process.

Over the years I have worked with Frank Klimaszewski Carpentry from major home renovations to much smaller jobs. Frank's work has been consistent throughout. He works tirelessly until the customer is completely satisfied. Frank is responsible and trustworthy and he always shows up when he says he will. Frank's craftsmanship is impeccable and his expertise invaluable.

Frank made recommendations that worked much better and turned out better than we hoped. He does his research and offers *have you thought about* options. This was the second major project he completed here with his team, including complimentary masonry work around the entire structure.

First, don't trust the other recommendation. They all say the same thing "Remodel or Renovate One or More Rooms", so they are probably bogus reviews. This one is very REAL. The contract was structured in a way that FRANK KLIMASZEWSKI CARPENTRY always demanded upfront payments before he started any work. Frank was initially recommended to me by a trusted colleague, so I did not think this initially would be a problem. But the consequence was dramatic. Throughout the construction process much of the work was not done well or left undone.  I constantly had to be on top of things, acting more like a GC myself. He refused to start on new phases of the project until I kept paying for the project upfront. Many times we got into heated arguments about poor workmanship. Frank then threatened to drop the project and leave. Since this would have put me in a dire situation, I manage to keep things going by completing some undone work myself. Finding a new contractor willing to complete a half-done job would have been a challenging (and there would be high risk of losing upfront payments). Also FRANK KLIMASZEWSKI CARPENTRY was registered on all the City permits, so switching contractors would have been difficult. Hence, I struggled to manage get most important things done and approved by the city, before finally firing FRANK KLIMASZEWSKI CARPENTRY. Hiring FRANK KLIMASZEWSKI CARPENTRY was one of the biggest mistakes I have done. I don't recommend anyone working with FRANK KLIMASZEWSKI CARPENTRY. In general, Frank's  main focus is making money vs. doing high-quality work. He sub-contacts all the work to low cost contractors, and does minimal supervision himself. Here's a list of some of the reasons not to hire him: - No contractor should ask a customer to pay upfront.  Unethical business practice. - Right from the start Frank made a major mistake in framing two dormers NOT according to plan.  I had to go back to the architect and town to address the error. - Extremely poor workmanship on trim around windows, doors, stairs ,cabinets. Repairs of hardwood floors and stairs had to be re-done. Installation of HVAC ducts in basement was very sloppy, and so was outside vinyl trim around basement windows. - All exterior and interior doors should have been the TruStile brand (according to contract), but FRANK KLIMASZEWSKI CARPENTRY installed Reed doors at less than 1/2 the cost. - According to contract, FRANK KLIMASZEWSKI CARPENTRY was responsible for removing all trees and bushes on the property, installing all handrails, door hardware and much more, but never did. - Never did any general clean-up.
