I was referred to this company by my contractor's kitchen designer who had used him in the past after a quartz countertop I had ordered suddenly became unavailable. So I had to go with granite.
Things were fine at first. They were prompt, punctual, and professional. They did an excellent job of measuring, shaping, polishing, and fitting the countertop to my new kitchen cabinets.
So why am I giving them lousy grades? Because when they came to install the countertop, this guy's installers decided they had to move the fridge to get it into position properly. At that point in this remodeling project, the new vinyl floor had been installed. They did not take any precautions whatsoever to protect the floor when they moved the fridge and proceeded to rip up the floor. Not even an old bedsheet. They did not even think to ask me if I had something they could throw on the floor to protect it!
My contractor contacted Colossus on my behalf to try to straighten this out, and they basically refused to pay for it stating that I signed a damage waiver. Of course, they ignored all phone calls and e-mails from me. They also ignored my attempt to settle this through the BBB (which has now resulted on a black mark on their record with them).
I can't deny the countertop looks great. Unfortunately, it still reminds me of the unprofessional way this company hid behind a damage waiver and cost me $900 for a new floor when there was absolutely nothing wrong with the brand-new one that was there until they ripped it up.
A damage waiver does not give a contractor permission to be careless and absolve him of taking basic precautions to protect the homeowner's property. My recommendation: Don't bother with this guy. His workmanship is not the problem. If something goes wrong with the project during installation, he's going to hide behind paperwork rather than accept responsibility for his worker's carelessness.

Everything went well. Colossus was very helpful in choosing the countertop, took excellent measurements, and did a great job with the installation.

We found them by chance and went in and were greeted by Katheleen who has a great knowledge and appreciation for granite. She found out what we were looking for and searched her resources. We had looked at many places but she found what we wanted.

I met Joe and his wife through my former contractor who was terrible. He had never used them before, and when we fired him, they were unaware that he had a reputation of not paying his subs. We had a good feeling about them and were totally right (for once). Very professional. They took us to a supply house where they get their granite, they recommended a granite that was EXACTLY what we were looking for. They were prompt and did a fantastic job. Very clean and friendly. Price was great.
