After VJ provided me with an estimate for the first job of cleaning up the lawn, I promptly submitted a 50% down payment to get that started while we finalized plans on what to plant and where. He was very responsive when discussing the second job, brought his own ideas to the table and took mine and my parents input seriously. I submitted the second 50% down payment for the second job before he had scheduled or completed the first job. I did this out of good faith and VJ made it clear that he'd prefer to do everything in one day. After he deposited my second check, we made plans for him to come out and get to work. That day came and went without any notice. VJ and his team simply did not show up for the job. When I asked him about it, he at first was defensive, as if him not showing up was somehow my doing. Lastly, he stopped returning phone calls or e-mails. It wasn't until a letter was mailed threatening legal action that I received a full refund (and that was after weeks/months of reaching out).

I went with a recommendation from someone I thought I trusted and had used VJ Hurley and Kind Kuts for years. He was very responsive at first, did a computer generated model of what it would look like, and gave a good price. He sent a contract and required a 50% deposit. I should have known better, but sent the money. That's when I had to pull teeth to set up a work date and when it was finally set up no one showed. After over a week of emailing, calling to a full voicemail, and no return of any communication his number is disconnected, the website is down and Facebook is clear. He stole my deposit and inform people I see a lot of similar reviews and even a court case for the same thing. Despicable.

We met with Mr. Hurley on 12/11/15 for him to review the job site for desired garden beds in our back yard. At the time, Mr. Hurley seemed to fully understand the project and was confident that he and his crew could complete the job the following week pending our approval of his estimate, which he promised to have no later than the following Monday (12/14). When I hadn't heard from him by Tuesday, I replied to an email he had sent me (to make sure it would be delivered to his inbox and not rejected) stating that we were eager to have his estimate. Still no word by Thursday (12/17) , so I sent another email via his website's comment form, requesting confirmation if he was still interested. This endeavor was one of at least two relatively large projects we had planned on him doing, in addition to signing up for weekly lawn care in the spring. However, we desire to do business with professionals. Mr Hurley's failure to keep his promise about providing an estimate and then blatantly ignoring two attempts to contact him, certainly doesn't fit the common definition for "professional". Not only did he waste my time meeting with him, but we've lost nearly two weeks in seeking the service of a true professional.

They were real good and did good work. They were on time and did everything on budget so I am happy. Their price was good. They did work for me last summer and I probably am going to have them do some more work for me this spring.

VJ came to my property and reviewed the work I needed to have done and that was the last I heard from him, without my reaching out to him directly. There was never an estimate provided, nor was I advised that he just did not want the job. I followed up with him several days later to ask if he was interested in the job and he advised that he was and that I would receive the proposal later that day. I never received an estimate for the work needed. I took this as a sign that I had the wrong contractor.

VJ, the owner, came out for the estimate and was very prompt and courteous. The job was scheduled for 7AM on a Friday morning and the men assigned to the job were on time. There was more work than initially anticipated, so they could not finish the job that day due to other jobs on the schedule. Once they were scheduled to come back on a week night at 4:00, no one showed. I called several times and finally got a call back at 5:15 from the guy that was supposed to be here saying he had gotten stuck at another job...all well and good, but it would have been nice to know before the fact. After that, they were scheduled again, and came back to fix the job. Aside from the one late notice of cancellation, we were very happy and they were easy to deal with. The prices were very reasonable and we will use this company for all of our irrigation needs in the future. They performed the following work: *Buried a pipe that became exposed after we changed the level of a flower bed *Replaced a few broken heads *Repaired a pipe that we damaged while planting a tree *Found and replaced a broken valve *Adjusted the heads *Replaced existing rain monitor with a wireless version

Due to a final spring freeze and rain VJ pushed back our job several days. We saw this as a positive thing because he wanted our sod to have the best weather possible to begin to take into our soil. We did a soil test ourselves and sent the results to VJ, he applied the appropriate lime, top soil and fertilizer. They arrived around 8am the day of the job and work until I got home from work around 5:30 pm, the lawn looks amazing. They completed a HUGE job in one day. Our front lawn is 5000 sq feet! VJ stayed in contact with us throughout the process and we couldn't be happier with the results. He continues to call to see how everything is going and keep us informed on how to care for the new grass. Thanks VJ! We hope to have you back next year to put in the stone patio in the back!

We had Kind Kuts remove 13 small unhealthy trees at the front of our very large property that were obscuring the house and just plain old ugly! VJ Hurley was prompt when assessing our property and his crew completed the work very quickly. They also gave our yard a good clean up: trimming trees and bushes, removing thorny bushes and leaves. We are hiring Kind Kuts again to install sod in a few weeks, we look forward to another good review at that time.
