Tree Stump Removal
$400
I agreed to stump removal for $400, which was the quoted price. Afterward, I learned from my gardener that the work was not completed correctly. When I raised the concern, I was told the job would require an additional $600, which was never part of our agreement. This is unacceptable. The original quote was for full stump removal, and I will not authorize or pay extra charges beyond the agreed $400. I expect the job to be completed as promised or a refund issued.

I am so sorry to write this review but i think it is necessary for everybody to know every experience. Positive and negative. FACTS: I called Trusty tree for a fallen tree on our house. Apparently because they "call" these situations an emergency the cost consequently sky rocket. My question is: If I call them at 1am, I agree that is an emergency, but if they come the day after, even if they have to move some appointment is this really an emergency to justify such increase in the cost? After all cutting tree is their job. Probably because of the emotional effect of a tree on your house they know you would pay any price to have it removed. However, even though I don't like this system, I acknowledge that it is the way many of these company work. I have no complain for the job they have done, however, upon leaving, the owner left us a nice "gift" on my driveway and my neighbor's property. On my driveway, his truck (operated by him) left several huge spots of hydraulic fluid that cannot be removed and on the way out from the driveway, he broke several blue stones of our neighbor curbside. After several calls, the owner finally came and claimed that it was not his fault. When I brought witnesses and proof it was his truck he reluctantly agreed while he tried every possible way to ridicule and downplay the severity of the damages and his responsibilities. Even his team tried every possible way to convince him that it was his responsibility and he needed to step up and take care of the problem. We had to get close to threaten legal actions and file claim with his insurance to finally have the people on his team step up and settle the matter. Not him, his team. RESULTS: The work they did was ok. However, the fact that he intentionally didn't say anything the day he caused the damages and tried to initially deny it when confronted is despicable. Even people from his team, that witnessed and acknowledged his responsibility where embarrassed by his actions. BOTTOM LINE: Just for the lack of honesty and integrity demonstrated by this individual (owner) I would never AND ever rehire his company as well as I would not recommend him to anybody. Food for thoughts

I got a response to my request for an estimate the day I called. I appreciated how Joe explained that the weather is a big factor in his ability to complete jobs and that he did not schedule jobs more than a week in advance for that reason. He was able to schedule my job when I needed it. I just love how open my property looks now and I can plant the hedges that I want without the concern of the new hedges not getting enough sun!

There is a 20 ft strip of land between our house and our neighbors, and (16.5 ft is ours and 3.5 ft is hers). We came home to find all trees and foliage in the strip completely cleared. They left nothing but garbage and debris across the land (hurricane looking). Our downspouts had been removed and thrown into a pile under our porch. One of the workers told us "they were in their way". We have had a contractor working on the property who had dug an irrigation system (ditch) that has been filled in with landscaping debris and trash causing it to collapse in on itself requiring our contractor to not only clean up the mess but redo the entire system. Although responsive at the beginning when we were potential clients, once we spoken with the GM and he realized after visiting the property and speaking with my husband, and he admitted to no knowledge of the property line. He initially agreed to help resolve the situation. However, for whatever reason decided against that decision. After 2 weeks of no communication despite numerous attempts to reach him the final attempt I explained I was 6 months pregnant and couldn't deal with the stress and only wanted to find resolution. The last thing I want to do is go to BBB or Angie's List. To that I finally received a response. An email stating he received my text regard BBB or Angie's List and "did not appreciate my threats to his company" and that he would not be helping us and the problem is ours not his, and we can take it up with someone else.

I had used Trusty Tree several times before and been very happy with the results and price.  But the company has been sold, and the quality of work didn't compare to before.  Because of the type of bushes, I didn't expect them to come out full or looking great.  But when the crew was done, the bushes looked butchered. One factor might be that everything was trimmed at an angle rather than horizontal because the guys were standing on the ground using a pole with a chainsaw at the end.  Also, one guy started to cut the bushes much lower than was discussed, so another guy took over. But it was too late for that section.  The stumps were all ground up. When I got home the crew had done a good job of cleaning up all the dropped branches from my lawn and the lawn of the house on the other side of the bushes.  But one utility wire was somehow cut and left hanging off others.  Fortunately, no one lost any service; otherwise it might have cost me.

The work was delayed because the equipment needed was in need of service. After the delay the work was done well and I would hire them again.

Overall, Trusty Tree was excellent. They were very careful not to damage any property from falling branches, using rope to catch branches. I was partially concerned beforehand because I had solar lights in ivy on the driveway that I really didn't want to remove, but it turned out to be a non issue as they were so careful. They were very fast but very thorough. They were willing to go above and beyond, and did not hesitate to remove a stump at no additional cost. In fact, their attention was so detailed that I even saw them remove a root near the stump. The wood chipper made clean up very efficient, and when they were done, the lawn was even cleaner than before they came. They made sure to pick up each and every branch and blow all the debris off the property.

He was the most reasonable and he was excellent. They send out coupons. I've heard from other people who have had him too and he was excellent. They were the most reasonable because I got some crazy prices and he was like really a lot less. The owner was onsite and he was very compatible to anything we wanted done and there were things that weren't even in the estimates that he actually did. He was very good that way. I'll be calling him soon 'cause I'm gonna be needing work done. Quality was good. I've had 3 tree men over the years and he was the 4th and we liked him better than any of them.

On short notice, Trusty Trees was able to show up same day and perform an emergency tree removal for me. Price was reasonable, crew was courteous and they cleaned up when finished. Would definitely use them again.

My experience overall went very well. The staff was quick, clean and efficient. They went above and beyond for us. The pricing was very reasonable and competitive. The staff was very friendly and processional, as well. They were quick to respond to my phone call when I contacted them. I would highly recommend this company to others.

4X8'x3/4' plywood sheets were placed on the work area and my neighbors driveway to protect the area from the weight of the trucks, crane and chipper. Work began immediately. 2 men were in the tree cutting the limbs while the crane held the weight and lowered them to the ground. As the limbs reached the ground they went into the chipper and then into a waiting truck. All work proceeded expeditiously and within approx. 6 hrs. All was completed except the removal of the trunk which took about an hour and was cut as close to the ground as possible. Finally ,both the neighbors and my yards were raked and blown clean and all was complete. Excellent job and price.

I've used Trusty a few times. The first time, in 2004, I received estimates from 3 companies to remove trees and the prices were quite varied. Guy, the owner, brought up the subject of grinding the stumps, which the others didn't mention and, as a first-time homeowner, I hadn't thought of. His price was good and I was happy with his work. So when I needed work again, I didn't seek other estimates. I was again happy with the work.
I do not know whether Guy is still the owner, and that would factor into my decision whether to use Trusty without estimates. When I left a message in Nov. 2012 to get an estimate after Hurricane Sandy left me with a toppled tree, I didn't get a call back. I went with a limited-time offer on Angie's List from another service rather than risk missing the deal and leaving another message.

We spoke to, and received estimates from, four contractors. We felt Trusty tree was the most knowledgable. He was accommodating and professional throughout the entire process. We are exteamly satisfied with the job they did, the price was very competitive, and they got the entire job completed in a single day. They were very thorough with the cleanup, including my neighbors property.

We would highly recommend them.

We had Joe come over twice to survey the work we needed done (a couple of trees down and a cleanup of a large tree), and he quoted us $5500. On the day of the job, he and his guys showed up on time and started working immediately, which was great!
My fiance and I had arranged that this work would be a gift from my father, who spoke to Joe and sent us a check for $6250, giving the guys a generous tip for good work. We had also made it clear that if the job goes well, we'll have more work for them over the summer.
Everything went fine, until we went to hand Joe the check... suddenly he jacked up the price to $6800! WHAT!?? $1300 MORE
than quoted? Yikes! And worst of all, Joe was vague about why the price was suddenly SO MUCH more. Something about the job being more involved than previously thought...how is that possible when he came to survey our trees TWICE?
My fiance tried to reason with him, but instead Joe directed him to call some other guy at the company and left without taking the check. Ouch! Meanwhile, they didn't clear out the underbrush in our back yard like previously discussed.
After weeks of back and forth between us, John, and Joe, they finally agreed to take the $6250 for the job, which wasn't even entirely finished. Joe admitted they didn't finish because they and quot;ran out of time.and quot; He's since offered to return to finish, but I'd rather not deal with whatever moneygrubbing may be in store. Honestly, I really wanted to like these guys, but we were definitely getting the run around.
I felt duped, and we will not be calling these guys back.

They took the tree off without any damage. They advised on taking down 2 other trees down, which they did. They cleaned up totally and there is nothing on the ground. I received estimates from a few companies and theirs was the most reasonable. One estimate was for $4,500 just for the (1) tree. I think they are a fabulous company and so wonderful to work with. They promised they'd be here by Saturday and were here on a Thursday. Many companies have voicemail boxes and you wait for them to return calls but Joe has a cell that he will answer.

I've heard so much good press about Trusty Tree over the years. I contacted them a while back for tree maintenance on our property. We had several "false starts" due to the weather and scheduling conflicts on my end primarily.
I liked that Joe (the supervisor) called me outside several times to explain and review the work they were doing and to make sure I was pleased. And, I am pleased!!! Trusty Tree did a really nice job in significantly trimming back the trees on our property. Also, the clean-up process was very thorough and efficient. John, another supervisor, was here for the clean-up.  I like the way Joe informed me that he would be leaving and John would be coming.  (good hand-off!)
I would definitely recommend Trusty Tree- they stay busy though and sometimes they get backed up because of the weather.  So be patient and I think you will be pleased!  Great customer service!

It was great! They listened to everything and did what they said they were going to do. Also gave a little more and the price was the same. Any problems I had were quickly resolved.
