This experience was an absolute nightmare...and still is. My car was not ready when promised the first time and then I waited close to two hours the second time only to find the technicians taking the floor model off of the wall to install into my vehicle without my knowledge. When I protested, I was snickered at by the manager/owner who said it was a misunderstanding and he thought I knew as the product they ordered would not power up. He then told me he'd give me $30 off if I wanted to keep it. I told him I was sold and paid for a new system. (I had given them my check upon my arrival) He said he would order a new one and it would be in in a few days. A short while after that I was told my car would be brought around and ready to go...well about 20 minutes later I was told that they shorted out a fuse for my windows and needed to replace it because the power windows were not working properly...well about a half hour later after I asked what was going on I was told that it was not the fuse and they could not get the windows to work and did they work when I purchased the car. I told them yes. The owner said he would need to order a part to fix the window. I left for home 2+ hours after arriving to pick up my car. No apologies, we're sorry for your inconvenience, nothing. When I arrived home I discovered that the sound for the DVD player did not work well. The next morning the DVD player did not work. When I called to tell the office, they said these models sometimes have difficulty powering up in the cold. I said this is NJ it gets cold and I was not told that prior to purchasing this product. Amazingly they discovered (because the window part was going to cost them $400) how to have me reprogram the window controls. For about a week or so I drove around with a broken dvd player in my car. Driving home from work one night I discovered that my CD player was not working and was not even recognized as being a sound option. I called the office and spoke to the manager again who said that they took the radio completely out and probably forgot to connect something and that they would fix it when the dvd player was installed and oh by the way they then tell me that the new unit came in and is not working because its cold. He said he was going to order a different model. My husband dropped the car off yesterday. When he picked it up he was told that they could not get the CD player to work and told him to take it back to the dealer where it was purchased and have it fixed under warranty. My husband asked what if it is not covered and the owner/manager said "that's why I have a checkbook". Makes you wonder does this kinda stuff happen a lot? Driving home my husband noticed that the new dvd is smaller than the first one and now the headliner has the outline of the old one around it. Also the dome light does not work. I am so frustrated as I continue to wonder what else might they have damaged in my car that I will not know about.
Description of Work: I wanted to have a remote start and dvd player installed in my newly purchased car. I telephoned the business and even visited them to show them the vehicle and describe what I wanted done. I was informed it was no problem. I asked if I could get a discount because I was purchasing two things at once and the sales rep (Jim) said he would give me $50 off. I left a $100 deposit because they needed to order the dvd player from the manufacturer.
