Just recently we were thrilled to celebrate our 50th Anniversary with over five-hundred family, friends and customers - what an exciting benchmark for our family!Five decades ago, our dad Joe began by partnering with four friends and overseeing the groundbreaking what was once the Hotel Scandia in 1962. What first was expected to become a bowling alley has turned into a popular event destination in Garwood, NJ. Over the years, countless members of the Scalzadonna family have made The Westwood, their home away from home, from our children to our grandmother Lena, they have all taken an active role in making The Westwood what it is today. To say our family takes this business personally is an understatement. We strive to make each event for our customers as special as those we’ve held for our own family.To that end, we spend countless hours attending catering shows, food presentations and a variety of seminars, changing our menus regularly. We continue to expand our offerings, including our in-house floral department and Jersey Joe’s Barbeque, our affiliated off-premise catering service.Today, we are proud that The Westwood’s personal, family-oriented approach continues to make us the first choice for families like yours - and we’re looking forward to seeing you soon.

The lady on the phone seemed to be very knowledgeable at first, and assured me that the chicken, cheese, fruit and antipasto platters I was ordering were good enough for the amount of guests I had. When the day of the party arrived, I went to pick up the food; I had to wait in the lobby 10-15 minutes until I was finally asked if I needed any help, when I told them I was there to pick up food for a party I had to wait around 10 more minutes. I was not happy since, the Westwood had told me the food will be available once I arrived. When I got home, and I started opening the platters, my eyes couldn't believe how tiny the fruit was and cheese platters!! I was so upset since I was very specific about asking about their food portions, I was really embarrassed just to imagined that the $95 dollars that I had spent for each Cheese and fruits were not going to be enough not even for 30 people. I would have been better off ordering from Shoprite or Pathmark. The cheese platter looked very poor and unprofessionally packed, I could have done a better work myself, but since I was busy making the final arrangements for the shower, I thought a catering business could take care of that. When I called them furious regarding the fruits and cheeses they told me that they had weighted the food and it was exactly 8 pounds, and if I wanted more i needed to pay an extra $95 dollars.
I was really upset because I told them that if I would have been informed from the beginning about this, I probably would have never order from them.
The lady who handled my order never called me back to apologize or anything.
I will never use Westwood, be careful of their misleading advertising, when you order food from them.
