Manicures/Nails
Two girls and three women in my family went together to get our nails done for a family funeral. We went to the Cranford location because my aunt said she had been there before, that they did a good job and were reasonably priced. We had an appointment and were taken fairly quickly. I chose the Spa treatment for my pedicure, which was nice and relaxing, but the technician did not seem to know how to do a foot massage. It was a bit painful. While I was in the chair, the manager (didn't get her name-short haired asian woman), got into an argument with two customers over the cost of their pedicures'. She had over charged them, and when it was brought to their attention, argued that it was not her fault, that the tech had written the wrong price down. The tech apologized but the manager continued to argue with the other two women, demanding to know why they would accuse her of lying. The younger of the two finally told the manager to drop it, that she was being rude, and after a few more rounds, she did. At the end of their visit, the manager did make a minor apology. It was extremely bad customer service. I would have left..
My teen was very happy with her gel polish, and said the nail tech (same manager), had done a very thorough job taking care of her nails. My two younger daughters also really liked their nails and the manager-tech gave them each a flower on two nails at no extra charge. My basic mani was just average. The color on my very rushed mani was streaked and it looked too white on, so I asked her to top it with a pinkish top coat to temper the starkness. She did so but asked "why? You picked pretty colors." While we were all drying, I noticed one of the girls had polish on her finger, so I asked the woman to please take it off. She either ignored or didn't hear me twice. We were all supposed to get chair massages, but only two of us did.
So, when I went to pay for all 8 services, I was somewhat disappointed with the overall service but didn't say anything since we were in town for sad circumstances. She was not happy with my tip and asked me for more money. I couldn't believe the rudeness of such a request. I showed her my streaks and told her I had asked twice for her to remove my daughter's polish on her finger, which she immediately did. She still maintained that she deserved more tip. I gave her more and told her we would never return. The level of customer service in this country is drastically reducing. This salon is a perfect example.

They are always on time and they do a good job. The people are friendly. There's nothing I don't like. They are very reasonable and the parking is easy. I have been very pleased.
