He did it even earlier than he initially promised (which is good because we next need some work on the pool). The result looks excellent. About five years ago I had a bid on just replacing the 12' by 24' section (the section that was really badly broken) with new concrete, and that bid was so high I decided against doing it since the concrete would have probably cracked again. (My brother-in-law, who is an architect/builder, says that there are only two sorts of concrete - that that's cracked and that that's going to crack!) The earlier bid was $7,500 - which might be higher than the whole job this time, taking account of inflation. Everything we were told that would be done was done, and we are very happy with the result.
