We signed a contract on Sept 24,2021. After multiple promised start dates, Tom finally strated on Nov 11,2021. Worked 4 days and got sick. Didn't return until Dec 13,2021. We paid him $15,000.00 to date and we have only a gutted bathroom with little else done. Finally had to go with another contractor. Tom refused to give a completion date and demanded more money before returning. We did not receive all the products we paid for in Sept. nor all the work.

Tom did a wonderful job (my new kitchen looks like it could be featured in a magazine). He was a true professional to work with, and his craftsmanship was exceptional. He also guided me in choosing cabinets, tiles, and counters that match. Over the years, I have hired Tom several different times to work on my house, and when I remodel the bathroom this spring, I will definitely hire Tom.

He said our project would be done in approximately two weeks and well before Christmas. We started December 9, 2013 and only partially finished by April 15, 2014. There were many stops and starts, weather-related and a week or two waiting for permits -- but mostly, Tom worked on "Tom-time." He had other projects going on at the same time as ours and often showed up late in the day or only stayed a few hours at a time. We were told "one customer at a time" but found he was unreliable. His workmanship and focus on quality material is exceptional and he knows his craft. The problem we had is it took him 5 months to complete an average size bathroom. We paid him in full and asked him to leave because it was just daunting to continue even a week longer.  He did provide warranty service to us but what realistically takes 2 days to complete, takes Tom 2 weeks to complete.  We still remain with an uneven shower door installed crooked, no caulking around the seamless shower glass and a broken tile on the shower stall floor.  It's a shame. He just needs to hire someone to help him instead of trying to do it all himself. And, try to be more honest with job time completion.

We had a new section of kitchen cabinets installed where we previously had a wall knocked out. Taracon Construction did a great job - got the exact match for existing kitchen cabinets and we also had new granite counter tops installed. Tom was very attentive to detail and we also had him do a few other miscellaneous projects such as putting finishing trim and a wooden shelf-type of top on our new half wall at the top of the stairs. He also pinned the new spindles in our new banister that our stair guy didn't do for some reason. Tom had great suggestions such as an angled floor cabinet at the entry of the kitchen. It looks great. Price for kitchen was as stated per contract with one exception as explained later. The only "complaint" I would have is compared to our other contractor who did a lot of work in our home, Taracon bills time for the miscellaneous projects and our closet doors took quite a while to install and that was a much larger bill than we expected. Also, we had one issue with the refrigerator water line leaking apparently for weeks when installed but he rectified that situation when called. That I was very upset about. Our other contractor didn't sweat the small stuff and bill time- each project we were given a price and that price was what we paid. With Taracon when the new kitchen sink didn't line up with the existing plumbing we had to pay another $150 for him to cut the pipe under the sink. Our other contractor would have just eaten that expense as an unexpected complication that arose- we wouldn't have had to pay extra. That is my only complaint and suggestion for Taracon- one price per project and don't worry about the nickels and dimes along the way.
