I called Streamline Sprinklers on advice from the local pump and irrigation supply house, on 5/11/2015. I actually spoke with Edwin (I believe that is the owners name). I explained my situation and what additional work I would like done which is as follows:
I had two sprinkler lines cut by landscapers. I definitely wanted these repaired. I also needed at least 3 sprinkler heads moved (probably would be 5 or more moved after Edwin's inspection) and at least 3 more heads dug up and straightened. I also had an issue with a pulsating or vibration in the lines when turning the system on. I learned that this was probably caused by air in the lines and/or a valve being stuck open. Of course I needed this fixed also, with the previously mentioned repairs. I then asked if he could, after checking my system, give me an estimate on repositioning the remainder of my 45 sprinkler heads for optimal coverage and correct positioning, so as not to waste water, i.e. over-spraying into the street or driveway. If this could be done all at the same time it would be great for me. Lastly I requested an estimate on extending two zones, each by one head, approximately 30 feet each for additional coverage. The last two items did not have to be done, nor were they expected to be done, all in the same day. Edwin (the owner) was completely receptive and said it would not be any problem at all to do all of the work, and he could take care of all of it I if chose. We then agreed on an appointment date of 5/26/2015, between 12 - 2 pm. He did ask if anything changed, such as my procuring another company to do the work before our scheduled appointment, for me to give him the courtesy of a phone call to cancel our appointment, since he is extremely busy. I told him that wasn't a concern, but that I would definitely do that.
On Friday 5/22/2015 I called Streamline, and got the voice mail of Edwin (definitely the same person's voice I had previously spoken with). I advised him that my son had stopped over the night before and solved the vibration problem in the valves. (It was only 1 valve and it was a simple fix of partially unscrewing the electrical connection portion on top of the valve, releasing the air and resetting the valve.) I wanted to be completely upfront with Edwin and made a point of telling Edwin this fact, but also told him I STILL WANTED ALL OF THE OTHER WORK COMPLETED. He still would have been here for quite some time, and it still would have been well worth his visit, both in money he would make but, more importantly, in the fact that he would now have a new customer, within a 15 minute ride from his home/office. I ended my message by stating TWICE that I still wanted him to come, and hoped that he still would since I have been waiting for him to complete the work, and still needed the work done, and would also need additional work done, whether on Tuesday or another day. I left both my name, home phone number and cell phone number TWICE at the end of the message.
Edwin and/or Streamline sprinklers never showed, but worse, he never gave me the courtesy of a phone call to say he would not come. Whether or not the work would provide him enough money, or whatever his problem was, he could have acted professionally and called to give whatever reason he wanted to say he wasn't coming. He would simply have been extending me the same courtesy he requested of me.
