After experiencing a nightmare with another popular area septic service, I called Atlas to get a second opinion about installing and moving a new septic tank over 10 feet. Called in the morning, woman who answered was very pleasant and helpful. Set up a time for an estimate that afternoon. Gary arrived that afternoon, on time and we discussed the work to be performed. Gary also walked me through all of the steps that needed to be done, provided a name of an engineer and even called the town's Health Department officer. Gary assured me that what I wanted to accomplish could EASILY be done and from there, an estimate was sent to me (cheaper than the estimate I received from the other septic service). Three days later, after all paperwork and plans were processed, my new tank was delivered and installed. Bob and Gary arrived in the morning, started digging and by 4pm...job was complete.
I am MORE than satisfied with the Atlas Septic. A great experience! If I could rate higher than an and quot;Aand quot; I most certainly would!

As part of an escrow agreement related to the purchase of my home, I contracted with Atlas Septic to replace the septic system for the home I was purchasing. The price was $25,900. The company forced me to sign a document stating that they were not responsible for damages related to the installation, which I reluctantly signed.
They arrived to begin the work in the middle of January and managed to get a 17’ box truck, a full sized backhoe and a smaller bulldozer down my driveway, which they left there for the next 6 weeks. The work began, with them taking full advantage of the “not responsible for damages” waiver by breaking anything they came near. I have pictures to prove this.
Over the course of the next month and a half it snowed frequently, and too much most of the time for them to work on the project. When the snow finally abated, they returned and worked on it one weekend and then returned mid-week to finish up as quickly as possible as in their project manager’s own words, they “wanted to finish before the snow hit again”. They
finished the work as another storm was rolling in, almost 7 weeks after beginning it.
Upon the snow thawing and giving me the ability to review the state of the yard, I found that they left numerous pieces of detritus about the yard, including rebar and concrete portions of the old septic system. I also found that they neglected to tamp down
the dirt in the driveway where they had dug a very large hole and the yard where they had dug it up to place the septic tank and the leach field. Also, they did not pack down the dirt on the hillside that they had also dug up.
In addition, they entirely buried a set of stairs that were nowhere near the area they needed to dig up. This was done as they were trying to find a place to put the dirt they had excavated rather than doing what they had promised me, which was to level the yard. In addition, they tore a tree out of the ground as a part of their work and left it lying on the side of the yard. Another example of doing the bare minimum or less.
At this time, directly due to the irresponsible and unprofessional manner in which this company left the property, I have severe
erosion on my hillside, which can undermine the stability of my home as I live in an area where slumping is a concern. I also have the top of a septic tank showing in the yard, pieces of broken concrete and rebar laying around the yard, garbage was left including a salt bag that they threw down and left, and my stairs down to the yard are completely covered with an immense amount of dirt.
Due to the escrow nature of the agreement, they were paid upon completion of the work, but I was not able to understand the truly terrible state that they left the property in until two weeks later when the snow had thawed.
I have called them 5 times. The woman in the office flat out laughed at me when I asked that they come and fix the issues and the project manager answered when I called from a number that he didn’t know. He promised to go and review the property and I never heard back. I have since called two more times leaving messages politely asking for his help to avoid having to place this complaint, but have had no response.
I highly recommend that if you wish for quality work to be done and for things to be done correctly, do not do business with this company. If requested, I can supply numerous photographs of the state that they left my yard in, the hunks of concrete, the erosion, the lack of compression or proper finishing by ensuring the surface was left in a stable condition, and before and after photographs showing that the stairs were covered in an effort for them to have a quick way to finish rather than doing the job correctly. I urge all potential customers to look elsewhere.

They were very helpful. They were on time and factual and did good work. The cost included the engineer that planned out the new septic tank an township costs.

I have used Atlas for many years. My call was responded to with prompt on time service with a knowledgeable crew that took care of the problem quickly.

BUT did a horrible landscaping job - They damaged trees, left nothing but subsoil to plant grass on. It took me most of the summer and fall to remove the excess subsoil, bring in new topsoil and plant the grass. If you ever think about using these folks, read the contract and don't sign anything that is not specifically spelled out to you liking. Make sure you are home to watch what they are doing during the whole process.
