The end results of all my projects have been beautiful and enduring. The only regrets I have ever had were when I overruled her recommendation, for example, I insisted on a fabric that Karla warned me would look gray not blue in the room and I insisted that we use it anyway (she was right). The hardwood floors I am putting in now, were what she recommended when I moved in 7 years ago. I insisted on carpeting and what we picked out was beautiful and still looks good, but I have been wishing for hardwood and now I am putting it in, but it is much more difficult since I am living there then it would have been when she first recommended it.
Other of Karla's recommendations, that I followed have stood the test of time and have proven to be remarkably flexible. The chandeliers, furniture, mirrors, lighting, shelving (even many of the drapes) moved easily into my new home with minor modifications.
For this recent renovation, I am working with a wonderful contractor Karla arranged for, who is the same one who did much of the work in my house the last time. He and his team are wonderful to work with also, high quality, considerate, professional, quiet, neat, and very resourceful. When I have questions or don't understand something in contractor "speak", I can always get advice from Karla. All the suppliers and contractors hold her in very high regard as well and work hard and creatively to deliver quality work on time and within budget for Karla and her clients

For my current project of completely renovated guest bathroom, Karla was able to source the vanity with countertop and sink from a wonderful kitchen and bathroom firm and we were able to put the design all together in a few hours at his store with his stock and her expertise. Given the tight timeframes I have given them, these kinds of resources are invaluable. Midway into the project, I also changed the original scope of the bathroom to include the tub surround, resulting in more construction and a major new tile design and purchase and new tub and shower hardware. Karla, my contractor, and the tile and vanity supplier, all responded quickly to keep the project moving.
A similar thing happened with the hardwood floors, where I originally did not intend to do the stairway, but ended up with a complete redesign of the stairs and bannisters. Again, Karla and the contractor worked together to make sure it happened and was beautiful. When I had questions about how different spindle combinations etc would look, Karla was able to show me examples from her many, many other projects to show the different options. For someone like me who needs to see it to visualize it, this kind of support and resources are invaluable.
Another major advantage of working with Karla and Interior Decisions, is that she always candid and helpful. She will work within any budget and scope constraints you give her, but will be clear about what you are giving up and will come up with alternatives. I tend to get into a project and then think of other things I would like to do. Karla is flexible about additions and changes, but will be candid about what she thinks and let you know when what you are asking for may be shortsighted.
