Paramount Waterproofing LLC

We met the owner of Paramount and contracted this company to fix the leak after receiving an estimate in the above amount.  The workers that came to our house to perform the work actually asked us where they were supposed to dig (should have noticed that red flag)!  They were there for less than 3 hours, trampled our plants in the front garden and made the repair.  The repair lasted for 5 months.  We noticed settling at the site of repair about 5 months later and contacted the company.  We were told to get some dirt ourselves and dump it in.  The basement started leaking again shortly after that and the company owner was completely unresponsive in spite of multiple phone calls, a BBB complaint and certified letters.  We recently had to take to owner to small claims court to recoup part of our losses (the judge ruled on our side).  During the court hearing, the owner actually stated that his work is not warrantied!  Do not use this company - they overcharge for substandard work.

We feel very taken advantage of by this company and the owner.   We were one of the victims of Irene, the storm flooded our partially finished basement.   We received NO MONEY from the government nor our insurance.   Before spending money to renovate the basement  we decided to waterproof the basement by putting in french drains and a sump pump.   Chris DuFour (the owner) came to our house promptly and got us on the schedule quickly.  He guarantees the work for life; which is something we were relieved to hear.  What he did not tell us is that he would be using subs and  that he would not be on site for the work.  When we spoke with the subs, they said they would have only charged $6000 for the job.  Chris was recommended by a cousin and he took advantage of our misfortune from Irene.  We are a young couple with a young child.  We are going to be set back financially for quite sometime to cover the costs incurred by this installation and eventually the renovation of our 2nd bath and family room.
