"Thank you for your review. We look forward to working with you on your next project."
"From the beginning of the discussions with the member he was very concerned with the cost of the deck and did not want the deck to go over 20k. The original plan we came up with went over his budget and we reduce the size of the deck to get closer to the 20k mark. We did discuss building the deck 12” O.C. but informed him that it would cost more to build. The deck was already over his budget and he did not want to spend any more. We built the deck 16” O.C. as per the Gossen decking specifications (Joists should be 2 inch x 8 inch or larger and joist spacing should not exceed 16 inch center-to-center for residential Projects.) This is directly from Gossen installation and guidelines. This deck is a high quality deck built as per the manufactures guidelines. I told him that we will add additional joists for a fee, a fee he would have had to pay to begin with had the manufacture specifications said it needed to be 12” O.C. He had no interest in paying any more money, which is exactly why he chose to build the deck according to Gossen specifications, not ours. If Gossen specifications where to build 12” O.C. that’s what we would have recommended and done. The problem by the way is there is some flexibility in the Gossen decking which is common for PVC deckings. The member should not be placing the blame on us. His efforts should be place with Gossen. I also tried very hard to get him to use Azek decking which we have never had a problem with and he used Gossen (against our recommendations) a new unproven decking this year."
