Great company, Brandon who did the estimate was precise, and professional. He explained everthing clearly and was a pleasure to deal with. The job itself got delayed because of weather but was done well under the conditions at hand. Would use them again in a heartbeat. I've priced out other contractors but George J Keller was well within reason and very professional and competent.

They were excellent. They were very prompt and polite. We didn't even know they were there. They did a good job. They did everything that we asked for a good price. Their price stayed within the insurance estimate. I would use them again.

Returned phone call within 1 hour of my initial voice message. Confirmation of on-site appointment sent by email along with PDF detailing company. On-site appointment was on time and followed within 2 days by email estimate. Initial repair work to guttering did not resolve leak. Follow up repairs to seals around exhaust vents did resolve leak; no additional charges incurred. Pleasant, prompt and successful. How could I not give a grade of "A"!

Although we received our estimate at the beginning of November, Keller was not able to start the job until late December. We found this to be acceptable, due to the hurricaine of September and the freak snow storm of Halloween. Our job was not an emergency or leaking, simply something that needed to be done. Keller had explained to us that "emergency" or "necessary" jobs would be ahead of us on the work list. We admired them for their ethics and thought it only right. They came the day they said they would start, completed the job within 2 days, removed any stained or suspicious board, covered our shubbery and deck with tarps, had a separate individual cleaning up odds and ends after the tarps were removed. One of the owners was constantly stopping by to check work quality and progress. When the dumpster was removed, one of the owners came to check the final job and actually cleaned up the odds & ends that were left under the dumpster site. Impressive to say the least. Within a few weeks we had an extremely heavy rain storm and unfortunately a leak in our garage. We called that morning, and as soon as the rain stopped Keller was here, fixed and explained the problem, and there has been no reoccurrence.

Very punctual, working hard all day with minimal down time. Walked the outside of the house with the job foreman and a member of the Keller family. Started and completed the job within 4 days. Overall, the house looks great and they did a nice job. Things to watch out for: It would have been smart (and nice) to lay down tarps on the ground and deck to catch the debris from pulling the old wood shakes off. Also, when removing outside hardware, such as light fixtures, switches, etc. I recommend that they put them in a designated container to keep them all together as some pieces were lost HOWEVER, they were replaced at no charge - so that is very positive. i would definitely recommend them to anyone. Like I said, the house looks great.

Overall the job went very well. High marks for the quoting process, professionalism, recognition of the problem and how to fix it and quality of work performed. A little bit lower marks on pricing. Of the other services I contacted, one bid $1,600 but their original idea for a fix seemed a little odd and another never returned my call. I had water damage in an upstairs room that had a wall where the roof joined the wall and there was not proper protection of the wall on the outside. They did a great job of identifying the problem and coming up with a realistic solution to fix it. It took over a month after I mailed in the 50% deposit before they arrived to do the work. That time did include Christmas and New Years and I was told up front that they were heavily booked for a few weeks so I still gave an 'A" for punctuality. It does warrant mention here though because I did not have the comfort of an approximate start date until just before they got started. The work crew arrived on time and was very professional, courteous and cleaned up when they were finished. A couple of followup visits were needed to reinstall siding and replace a section of gutter and they were quickly taken care of without the need for me to call and follow up or push to get it done. Overall I'm very happy with the work performed and although I feel the price was high for the repair work I'm confident that the problem is taken care of and they were easy to work with.

They started work on the job as soon as the building permit came in. They worked every day no matter what the weather. It was was in the low teen's one day, They were there and worked like it was 60*. Can't say enough, Great job.

This was a project I was not looking forward to. I received several proposals. Met Mike Keller during an arranged estimate and we discussed the scope of the project and the pros and cons of my options. He patiently explained each option and provided a written proposal within a day. Mike was very helpful in gathering sample shingles and identifying the shingles on a local home. Once the shingle selection was complete we agreed on the price and a final proposal was mailed. I forwarded my deposit and arranged a date for the install. I had several questions before the install and I was able to quickly reach Mike and he provided information and documents requested. The job was completed by a friendly, hard working crew. They were diligent and careful in their work. The job was complete in 1 1/2 days.

We used this company because they were very professional and punctual with their quote. We pointed out the problem area where a leak was coming in through the living room. They showed up when they said they would, and finished the entire roof job in one day. When they were here working, we again showed the workmen the leaking area and they assured us they took care of the problem. The problem is that there is still a leak, and now they say they are not responsible to fix it because they claim that it is not leaking from the roof. Our problem is that we paid them in full, and have no way to get anything done.

We had gotten a few estimates on getting a new roof for our house and decided to go with George Keller and Sons. We had issues with a leak at the front corner of our house and they made sure they took extra precautions in that area. We also had 2 skylights replaced while they were doing the roof. We were always kept updated on when they would be able to do the work considering the weather. They worked through the day on a Saturday to get the job done. They made suggestions on materials which would be good for our situation (moss on roof, etc). We were very pleased with the work performed and would use them again if needed. There was minimal cleanup on our part-the usual few nails and shingles but we are very understanding since it was very windy that day. would highly recommend them. The turnaround from the time of the estimate to getting the work done was very reasonable considering the extreme weather we've gotten in the past few months. I know people that are told their roofer is booked until next spring.

I called George Keller and Sons about a roof estimate. Dan Keller came over the very next day. He was very professional and picked up on things that the other two contractors I had estimates from had missed. At the same time Dan was very down-to-earth, friendly, and patient with my questions. The following day I received their offer which was very competitive. Since then we communicated several times and, once again, I am impressed with Dan Keller's professionalism and responsiveness. In the end, I decided to go with another company for my roofing project, but George Keller and Sons was a close second choice. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for experienced, professional, responsive, and easy to work with roofing contractors.

Very professional quote and provided in a timely manner but it was twice the amount quoted by 2 other companies. Update 01/03/2012. In response to GEORGE J KELLER & SONS LLC comments: I would have not provided a grade or submitted a report if you declined to quote the job, I can respect that. I had other vendors decline the job and you won't find any reports on them. You chose to price the job so I would decline the offer. Sooner or later I'm going to need to replace my roof, I might use the company that gave me a reasonable quote or declined the job due to the distance and scope of the repair work.

The entire job was done as promised in one day, and the cleanup was done as promised. This is a reliable family business in which they were involved from the quoting process, selection of materials, and final inspection.

gave a competitive quote and since they bring a large crew, full siding and all second floor Pella windows done in a couple of days...responsive to all calls after the job was done for the skylight, they came back twice over the following year when we had a small leak with the replacement skylight

Work is scheduled to start mid-November. Our experience with George J. Keller has been nothing but stellar so far. Dan came to our home numerous times to make sure we got every detail correct before we signed the contract. His professionalism is outstanding and we felt very comfortable with him. We worked thru all the detail and worked together on a price. The do have financing but we choose to pay without it. OUr job is about 3000 sq feet of siding. we settled on a James Hardie product for our house. Dan gave us addresses of their previous work and we were able to drive around and see their work. We have paid the deposit and are scheduled to begin work in about 3 weeks. This is right on time with what Dan had givin us as a "ballpark" time frame. I will report more when the job is complete. So far, a great experience. Update 12/12/11 All the work is completed minus a few minor things. The house looks incredible! Mike and his crew did a great job! They were polite, courteous and clean. We had very few concerns but all were addressed. The workmanship exceeded expectations. Every detail was taken care of. All work described in our contract was performed as well as a few extras. I cannot say enough about George J. Keller and Sons. The job has been complete only a few days and we have had numerous complements on the house. One neighbor said we now have "the best looking house in the neighborhood." I will use these guys in the future!

I would highly recommend them. They still have to come back and finish something up but there is so much rain and they are not able to do it. Essentially the job is all done. They were very pleasant to deal with. They diagnosed the problem correctly as far as I can tell and solved the problem. The workers were very flexible, friendly, efficient and timely. They were total joy to deal with. They are one of the most efficient and pleasant contractors that I've dealt with. They were competitive with the other estimates that I got.

My biggest complaint about the company was the lack of responsiveness. Getting them to look at the house to get an estimate was quick. It was everything afterwards that took a while. I had waited at least 2 weeks for the estimate and then when I called they said they had sent it out but maybe it was to the wrong email address. So once I gave it to them again, I got the estimate immediately. Initially when I had the person look at my roof , they told me it could be scheduled to be done in a couple of weeks and it would take less then a day to complete. The person was very nice and professional and the estimate was comparable to others we got. After we decided to use them, I sent the contract via fax. I called to make sure they received it and immediately I got the response yes but you need to send us the check. So I sent the deposit which was cashed immediately (3 days after I had written it) and then I waited. And waited and waited until finally I felt like I had to call since I had no follow up and no date as to when this would be completed. I got a date for about a month later. Then finally the date arrives and the only thing to show up was the material which was deposited outside our house. I thought the next day then they would show up and complete the work but of course not. So I gave them the benefit again to wait to hear from them. After a few days, I though this is ridiculous at least call me and tell me when you are coming so I know what to expect. I ended up calling them and this time I got a real date which was in a few days. They came and they went in less then half a day. They cleaned up well and that's about the most positive thing I could say. The job was fine I think. They gave me the final bill and mentioned that I may need to replace the siding which is old. Coincidentally, we now have a new wet spot inside the house where the roof was replaced but when I called, the person said it was probably from the old sididng that needs to be replaced. He said he would come out and take a look though just to be sure. Of course I have no idea if he did because I never saw a person. But when we called a few days later to see if anyone came, they said Yes and its defiinetely the siding that needs to be fixed. So we asked for an estimate and of course we are still waiting. Maybe our job is too small and beneath them but I don't appreciate not knowing what is going on. At least tell us you are not interested. They were sure quick to cash the checks though.

I am completely grateful and happy that we chose GJ Keller to replace our roof and 2 skylights. We have a very steep, high and complicated roof. Salesperson, Gregg, was very clear, efficient and not pushy. The crew was the best ever, they preserved and protected my vegetable garden and flower beds. I hadn't thought that would be possible! The yard and house perimeter is immaculate. I know they properly vented the roof and laid all the correct under-material applications. The job was huge so they used a double crew as they could and completed the work efficiently. The owner was here observing everyday, I know he was watching to be sure the crew was safe. He really doesn't need to watch for proper work because the crew is fabulously skilled and careful. The crew leader Estan(?) is a pleasure; professional, intense worker, great guy to have at the house. They went beyond expectations with the details. We have a small 3x4ft "roof" over a basement windowwell and they not only re-roofed it, they made a new plywood cover and then put the shingles on. The new skylights dropped in perfectly! I now have a great looking roof and a most pleasant experience behind me! Thanks to all at George J. Keller and Sons!

The job went smoothly and as promised. Mr. Dan and Mr. Mike Keller, from George J Keller & Sons LLC, are honest, professional and stand behind their work. Mr. Mike, the foreman, is great to work with.

I was very satisfied with them. I did get quotes from couple of companies; they actually came in the lowest. They were scheduled to come in the morning. The whole crew of five or six guys came at 7:30 in the morning. I would use them in the future.

The rep, Gregg Pierson arrived promptly, was informed of the problem and proceeded to check the roof. After about 30 minutes, Gregg came down from the roof and told us the problem was repaired. We had been fearful that a roof replacement was in the offing and when Gregg told us that he'd found that a couple nails had popped up damaging the shingles and that he'd repaired and patched the affected areas in addition to doing a full inspection. When we asked for the bill we were told there was no charge and that the roof was good for some time yet. The man wouldn't even accept a tip. Unheard of for us.Not our general run of luck. Of course, we will absolutely use the company, George J. Keller and Sons, if we ever need repairs/replacement. And if ever asked, we will recommend the company with no reservations. Our roof was leaking badly after a hard winter of ice dams. I called four different Morris County roofing companies to get estimates for full replacement of the roof. Of all four contractors, Dan Keller was the first and fastest to respond, most thorough in inspection, and fastest to return the estimate, which was clear and easy to understand. All four companies estimated basically the same scope of work and identical materials. Keller was hands down the lowest price for the work, as well as being the most prompt and responsive throughout the whole process. They helped me with the building permits and answered all my questions thoroughly and promptly. They provided rebids to show me different material options at my request with the same quick turnaround and thoroughness as the original. There was a little glitch during the scheduling process, I did not get a promised phone call from Mike to schedule and I had to call him to confirm that they were indeed coming ... sometime. But he responded immediately, professionally, kept me in the loop after that and they were on site within 3 weeks of the contract being signed. The job itself went smoothly and quickly. I was really impressed with the professionalism of the crew that came. They arrived a little early, set up and stripped off the old roof and put down the new all within less than 5 hours and done. I was pelased with the speed of the work and the attention to detail. Cleanup was well done and fast, I did find two nails in the yard upon inspection afterward, and a few stray pieces of shingle fallen down here and there. I would have liked to have found nothing since they did highlight their cleanup process in their bid. But to only find two nails and a few bits of shingle and insulation after ripping off an entire roof I think is probably pretty darn good overall.

This company as very prompt and professional. First, Dan Keller came out and measure, took photos of problem spots on the roof so I could see what he was talking about. He priced it out to repair and to replace. I opted to replace because it was 23 years old. He provided me with addresses of previously completed work so I could see what color the roof samples actually look like. Then he handed me off to his brother who is responsible for the physical part of the work. They were neat, quick and the job was completed in one day.
