Top Hat Chimney Sweeper

Jim Farley was amazing. He came out on a Sunday, the day after I called and spent 3 hours cleaning nests out of my chimney caps and one lodged in the vent going to my hot water heater. It was lodged so high and so tightly that I am convinced anyone else would have said they couldn’t get to it and left but Jim was so tenacious that he kept at it until he finally got it out. I can’t speak highly enough of Jim and his service.

Jim and Kevin took a personal interest in this job, giving me the best sweep I've ever received for my home. I plan to have them back to do additional work on the chimney structure, and I know it will be done right! This is the guy to use.

Dryer vent did not require cleaning but he fixed the way the duct attached to the dryer.  Chimney did not require cleaning but he filled a gap between the hearth and the fireplace.

Top Hat Chimney was incredible.  He came out to our house to inspect our chimeny and tell me any work that needed to be done.  He came in with his top hat and not only was professional but brought a smile to our faces.  He took time to teach us how to properly use our fireplace and did a complete inspection.  At one point, he took my 4 year old son to the chimney with him and pulled out a piece of fabric of Santa's suit that had apparently gotten stuck in our chimney.  My son was so excited.  In the end, he told us that our system was fine and he charged us nothing at all.  I would recommend him to anyone and EVERYONE!

Jim was responsive, punctual, and did a thorough job cleaning the chimney. He did not try to sell us extra services. Another chimney company charged us to clean out our heating flue - now we know from Jim that playing to clean out that other flue was a total scam!

The past year or two I have been trying to find a company to
repair my chimney. The cover on the top
of my chimney was leaking. It was about
15 years old and the material that covered/sealed the chimney (chimney and
furnace filter) was deteriorating and leaking.
I contacted a few companies regarding the problem, but none seemed
trustworthy or knowledgeable.

Then I contacted Jim at Top Hat Chimney and he came out,
assessed the problem, provided the reasons why it was leaking, and estimated the proper
cost to fix it without overcharging.
Based on his assessment and knowledge, I knew he was the right person
for the job.

Jim ordered the parts and completed the job within 2 weeks
of the estimate.

The chimney cover (stainless steel carver) looks great and
isn’t leaking.

chimney was clean - he showed me. he removed a bird nest from the chimney above the fireplace. on request, he replaced my copper chimney cap that had blown off last winter. he was very professional, did a good job, and undercharged me.

They were excellent. He came over and did the work quickly, did an excellent job, and it was very reasonable. I got a bid from other people and they quoted me for $2,000-3,000. I'm impressed with him, he's an honest guy.

I was prepared to have my chimney cleaned, but Jim came out and looked at my chimney and said it was clean, had no creosote and did not need to be swept. He also went on my roof and took pictures of my chimney and e-mailed them to me. Before moving forward with a wood stove insert, he said I should first get my chimney repaired and if I still want the wood stove, he would return after the chimney is repaired and gave me a fair price for the wood stove insert Once I get my chimney fixed, I am definitely calling Top Hat to come back and do the wood stove work. He is an honest guy who gives you an honest opinion. It didn't cost me anything to have him come to my home.

He was very professional. He called to say he was on his way. Once he arrived and checked out the chimney, he reported that we didn't even need the sweeping service. He's an honest good guy. Will call him in the future. Highly recommend.

They had great service. They were reasonably priced and they did a great job. He even took before and after pictures so I could see the difference myself. He was very accommodating and communicated well, explaining everything he was doing and why. I would highly recommend them.
