We had a leak in our basement due to a backup. They sent someone out who snaked for over an hour, removed 0 debris, then charged FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for the service. We were in shock, but assured our lines were clear. The next day our basement flooded AGAIN. So they send out the same exact guy ( I'm assuming because of their warranty rules) who did the same exact thing, but then said he thought he saw a twig on his auger... So their office then started pressuring us to pay ANOTHER 600 for someone entirely different to come out with a camera. That's right. 600 for a SIMPLE SNAKE WITH A CAMERA. We did not schedule the service, especially after the tech himself assured us that we should be good, we shouldn't have to worry about addressing the possible roots in the system for a while. The next day our basement flooded EVEN WORSE THAN BEFORE. But this time toilet paper sediment was literally POURING out of our system. We weren't convinced this was due to roots but rather an improper snaking and not removing debris the FIRST two times they were out. The first rep we spoke with had the common sense to realize not to send the same guy out again and assured us someone would be on their way to address the issue. Cut to 2 hours later, some other woman we never spoke with calls to tell us "because a camera was recommended and we didn't go with it this next call wasn't a warranty call and we won't be sending anyone out today. You can wait till tomorrow and pay more for the service we told you to get" My husband lost it admittedly. After waiting hours and being assured we would have help, this person took it upon themselves to punish us. She wouldn't even listen to us explaining all of the debris in the pipes and had a snarky answer for every single issue we raised, including telling us it was "our responsibility to hire a cleaning service" after we explained how their tech left our basement COVERED in unsanitary sediment after his service. We were made to feel like we were trying to game their system after paying FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR A SNAKE and still having a flood. She would only concede to send someone out if it was the same guy as before. We declined vehemently and started looking into other services. The next morning we got a call from a plumber we reached our to and explained our situation. They were appalled, and assured us that not only do they have cameras on their snakes ( which should be standard in 2025) that their techs are equipped with everything they need for any job, and the diagnostic and visit would be $97 only. Within 5 minutes of the second tech being at our house he was LAUGHING at the incompetence of this company, explaining to us that not only did the first never even snake the drain that had the clog, HE DIDNT EVEN OPEN THE MAIN LINE FROM OUTSIDE TO DRAIN IT. Just pure incompetence with overly defensive staff, on top of very clear and shameless price gouging. Absolutely do not recommend you waste your time.

He came out right away. He helped me clean the water first and then fixed the valve and the whole mechanism. He is professional and he knows his job. It was an emergency call and the price was fair.

Wonderful plumbing service! The plumber sent by A-General was on-time and located and fixed a leak that was in the crawlspace under our house. He was very neat and took care not to create a mess. The price was right in line with the estimate and in my opinion was very fair considering the amount of work and the time spent here. I would definitely call A-general again!

Carlos did a great job, had to clean out a drain line and cleaned up after the job was done. He was very professional, friendly and courteous. Carlos kept the job affordable and we would not hesitate calling A-General again.

Called A General Sewer and Plumbing after my downstairs toilet exploded water all over the place.  Carl showed up 1/2 hour later, identified the clog and had it cleared within 1/2 hour. Great service at a great price.  Saved my entire weekend from being a disaster.

These people are honest and great.  I have not used then yet for plumbing work other than an estimate and pipe inspection, but they were my guardian angels when AJ Perri was trying to screw us out of $6700.00 to replace a sewer pipe that they claimed was crushed.  I was given their name by my brother-in-law and called then up, they immediately sent someone over the next day to inspect the pipes.  They used their camera and looked into my main sewer pipe that AJ Perri said was crushed and found nothing.  I was told by  AJ Perri, that my sewer pipes needed to be replace immediately.  I had my kids at my in-laws and my husband and I were living on partial sewers.  Which meant two pees and a flush, laundry couldn't be done, showers were taken either at my inlaws or very quick.  It was an awful time, this was the first time we needed a plumber and AJ Perry made it to be one of the worst times my family had to go through for absolutely nothing.

Thank God, we were given the number for A-General who came out looked at the pipes and gave us their honest diagnosis. Their honesty and knowledge have now made them

Angie's List disclaimer says they will hold a customer accountable for a review for fairness and accuracy. If they weren't at a customer's home it comes down to a he said or she said. Second, it doesn't say that they will hold the CONTRACTOR accountable. It also states that a contractor will be given a customer's name and address if requested by the service provider. Is this to discourage a customer from giving an accurate review?

The work provided by this plumber is as described: installing a kitchen faucet and leaving the supply line too long in the cabinet beneath the sink. We have to be very careful putting garbage pail and cleaning items in the cabinet.-; if the supply line is moved the line hose can disconnect and we assume can cause a leak. We have not brought in another plumber to fix the supply line as of this date.

The service call was later in the day (around 6:00 pm); if he was tired he should called and asked to re-schedule the appointment. Don't come to a service call grumpy. There's NO excuse for a job not done professionally and correctly- 30 minutes- $310.30 (with tax). College? Let's all send our kids to trade schools!!!! (We don't know the average cost of installing a kitchen faucet. Does anyone know if a supply line can be made shorter? Does anyone know how much a simple sink install costs? Please share your knowledge.

This is written on Angie's List' How'd it go'? 'We want all the details page'. Is Angie's list going to include this. We have given an excellent review for another contractor NOT affiliated with this company, and expect all reviews to be printed.

Called at about 11am and they told me it would cost about $180 with coupon. Booked and they said I would receive a call 20 minutes before plumber arrived. Was called at about 2:15pm and he arrived promptly at 2:30pm. Plumber was very thorough, neat and friendly. Took him a while to find the clog, but when he did, it took all of 15 minutes to unclog it. He surprised me a bit when he told me the bill was $190 and would have been $250 if he charged me to unclog the basement traps and for the extra hour (which are all open and easily accessible). Fortunately, he charged only for the kitchen. Not his fault, but they never told me over the phone that their may be additional charges. They made it seen like $180 was the price for the service. Since I just had the work done, I will have to post a follow up to see if the drains remain unclogged.

Jim from A-General came out on a Saturday afternoon, evaluated the work needed to be performed, and gave me an accurate estimate for the job. The water well pump and tank were located in the crawl space of my ranch home in a somewhat difficult location. Jim came back on the Monday as promised to do the work, with all of the correct new parts and equipment, and did a tremendous job. I have been working in various service industries for over 38 years. I was very impressed with the professionalism, knowledge, and overall performance of Jim and the company that he works for. Would gladly bring him back for future work and will recommend him to friends. Thanks.

The guy could not have been more professional, conscientious and informative. He quickly and efficiently snaked a root clogged sewer, showed me the issue (roots) explained why it happened and gave me both preventative suggestions / options without "selling" them to me. He then trouble-shot a subsequent backup in the laundry room slop sink, did a simple fix and didn't charge me extra. Not only will I call them for sewer issues, but they will also be my first call for all my plumbing issues.
