When installing the liner to connect to the furnace in the basement, no drop cloth were put down to cover the floor. All the soot from the flute was in the basement. They did not complete the job and they came back 3 weeks later to complete it. They did not clean up the mess and it was left to the owner to clean up the mess. I was told at a later date, by another chimney repair man, that the job was done wrong and that the liner was too small therefore could overheat and needed to be replaced.
