I hired John Johnson's CJL company to install retaining walls on my backyard and I couldn't regret it more! He demanded to be paid upfront and after I did (which was a huge mistake), he started showing up on my property once in two weeks for two hours. He would scream at me over the phone and come up with thousands of lies about why he didn't do his work. The guy is a pathological liar! He shamelessly turned my backyard into his parking lot with three excavators and even started bringing his own garbage and leftover pavers which had nothing to do with my project. He took seven months (!!!) instead of two weeks that we agreed upon and only did 60% of the project. From talking to other people, I realized that the guy is a scammer who only has two people working for him (both pretty clueless). All he does is collect the money upfront and let the clients hang. He said himself that he had 15 unfinished projects while all of his equipment stayed on my property untouched for seven months! I had no choice but to fire him after seven months of him doing nothing and at this moment he owes me $10k worth of blocks only. The quality of what he managed to do is HORRIBLE! He had to redo things multiple times and the blocks are still all crooked and uneven. This is THE WORST landscaping company in Bergen county! Please save yourself trouble and DO NOT HIRE him even if he gives you a much lower estimate!!! You will get screwed. Look at Google reviews; everybody is upset with him. I wish I had done that prior to hiring.

was the cheapest; punctual; no special bells and whistles, if you just need lawn moving for $25/week.

It has all gone well for at least 3 years. The price is good, the service is good. Monthly payments for yardwoork - 100 + 7 tax; spring and winter clean up (I think $250); sprinklers (around $70). So, this is a relatively low cost provider with service about the same as everyone else.

They will also trim the shrubs, etc. They are a full service lawn service and they are responsive.

IT HAS BEEN GOOD SO FAR. THEY MAKE SURE THAT THE JOB GETS DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. I THINK THAT THE PRICE IS REALLY FAIR. THEY ARE ALWAYS ON TIME.
