L&M Heating and Cooling

After a few misunderstandings, Eric got my Central AC system working just in time for a heatwave. I had 2 electricians and another AC guy try to fix it, and after spending $600.00 in fees, no go! They claimed it was the compressor. Eric returned, and tried a new compressor. Power just was not getting through to it, it was not a bad compressor. Eric did not give up and kept troubleshooting. The problem was a loose wire in the exterior power switch on the rooftop fan unit. The previous electricians overlooked this! The final bill was not cheap, but well worth the price for a working AC during the dog days of Summer! The work was completed after 3 visits and the installation of a new compressor.

Great. Awesome. Fantastic. L&M was here quickly. Eric the service guy was pleasant and considerate when installing the new unit. He was here on time (if not early)!!! Who does that in this day and age? The cost was $900 lower than a local competitor. Great find.

He came back the next day with a new fan.The following is an exact quote from the receipt the L&M Heating and Cooling representative gave me.  "Began replacing blower fan motor in furnace.  Upon inspection of heat exchange with fan out found heat exchanger cracked.  Disabled heat and turned off gas to furnace.  Informed customer of situation."  The recommendation from L&M was to replace the HVAC system because if the heat was turned on the house would fill with carbon monoxide.  Cost:  Several thousand dollars.  I told the L&M representative I could not make a decision at that time.
I was scheduled for surgery Friday, August 28, 2015.  I was in the hospital and then in rehab for over four (4) weeks.  I recently came home.  I am just starting to walk and I am trying to attend to necessities such as heat in my house.  PSE&G came to my house Monday, November 2, 2015 and completed diagnostic testing on my HVAC system.  The PSE&G diagnostic testing results are as follows:  The blower is working.  The furnace is not cracked and is working just fine.  There is no carbon monoxide coming into my house.  According to PSE&G, there is no need to replace the HVAC system or any part of the HVAC system.  Both Air Conditioning and Heating system are working.

From start to finish it was a pleasure working with this company. We had initially purchased an inspection deal for $95 to have the furnace checked for the winter. The house was recently purchased in the beginning of the year and the state of the system was very dusty/dirty and the unit itself is 16 years old. The inspection went great and any questions I had were answered and everything was explained to me each step of the way. A faulty temperature limit switch was discovered and we scheduled for that to be replaced a few days later. We now have that replaced and the return duct work / furnace has been re-assembled and re-sealed. I am very happy with the work performed and the service was excellent. I will be doing business with them again in the future.

This was by far our best contractor experience. Since we moved into our new home more than a year ago, we've had two other "big" heating&cooling contractors come and "fix" our faulty HVAC. Despite repeated visits and multiple expensive 
repairs, our HVAC continued to fail. We were referred to L&M cooling by another contractor and finally got our HVAC fixed! It has been a real pleasure working with Erik. Other than the obvious technical expertise, he was always highly responsive, punctual, patient and honest. Not charging extra for additional visits and taking the time to explain everything in detail. A month later our HVAC has never worked better and while I hope we won't need him again, I would not hesitate to call Erik again in the future.

Things went smoothly from the time I made first contact with this contractor until completion of the work.  I was impressed with his workmanship as well as that of his assistant.  They arrived with everything they needed, including fabricated duct work.  They removed the old furnace. Made needed modifications to ensure safe and efficient use of electrical and gas.  They cut an opening in the intake to provide an easier access for replacing/cleaning the air filter.  I was shown what work was done and the contractor did an excellent job of cleaning up.
