Urgent Drain

He was very professional and was able to clear the clogged sink in no time. I hired a different person in the morning that gave me a lot of BS and was not able to do the job.

Horrible, dirty, unprofessional, incompetent work by Robert. Did Not clear the drain, left dirty water everywhere, stained carpet, said he'd come back to complete work, then went AWOL. But deposited check right after leaving. Horrible experience! Stay away!!

Robert replied promptly and came when he said he would. He was very polite and professional on the phone. However, he had problems and couldn't complete the job. Said he would have to come back the next day and that he would contact me in the morning about the time he would be here. He left with a few inches of thick filthy water in the bathtub that finally drained by morning, leaving a layer of dirt in the tub. Also, he left the laundry room sink full of dirty water that did not drain at all by the morning. In addition there was dried splashes of black dirty water everywhere where he was working, the two bathrooms and the laundry room. Thank goodness he did not go into the kitchen sink. The original clogged drain was a little sluggish, but not completely clear. He also left a black circular stain on my hall carpeting. The next day I waited for his call but he never called. His phone was not answered and the mailbox was full. However, I did leave him an email message, which was never answered. Since I had to leave when he was working my daughter was here and I left her with a signed check that she could fill in the amount and pay him when he was finished, She gave him a check for 600.00. I see all the positive reviews for him on Angie's list, but my experience is not one I would like anyone else to have. I called another plumber who was able to take care of the problem in less time than Robert was here. He also cleaned up some of Robert's mess. He and another plumber have since told me that all he should have charged for was a service charge. I really wish I had left a credit card instead. This is the most negative review I have ever written. update as of 10/31/2018: This is in addition to the first part of my review. When I told my family about my experience, my daughter called the company a few times and spoke to one of the people in charge. They listened and took some action but would not consider returning any part of the charges. The next day she spoke to another person in charge and was told the fees would be considered but heard nothing further by the weekend. My son then sent a letter (he's an attorney) and a friend of the family also called the company on my behalf. Monday morning Robert was at my door, very polite and apologetic with a check for a refund of 450.00. I did not mind paying for the service call. He told me that the reason he did not answer my calls was because he did not have the company phone that day. Which was a reasonable explanation for not answering my calls, but no explanation was given as to why he didn't call as he said he would do. I don't see how he could forget what state he left my house in the night before. However, I didn't confront his with this and accepted the check gladly.

He was professional and provided a very reasonable quote so I hired him over a number of others who quoted a tad higher. He communicated his time of arrival and even moved it up when someone else cancelled. He arrived, assessed the situation and quickly fixed the problem. My mother was happy so I am happy. One thing I will say that I was a little unprepared for but is expected in today's times, Robert increased his price by 75% after the job had been completed and there was nothing I could have done about it since he didn't forewarn me. I would have still gone with his services but if this were a much more costly job and he did that to me, I would have been in a bad situation. I would surmise that this is typical for this line of work but overall I am still very happy with the job he performed.
