While they did try to helpful there were many issues with them 1. They over estimated the weight of house 2. I only got back a fraction of the cost I paid as reimbursement for less freight 3. The loaders were rude, damaged the house, were unprofessional and very shady 4. My goods were damaged during transit. (Boxes, metal cupboard, parts box lost) 5. Insurance was a terrible hassle (Makes a lot of excuses, only provided token amounts for cosmetic damage, expects me to find repairmen..)

Reliable (Allied) Exceeded Expectations at all Phases Move started with Diane doing a detailed inventory and discussing my needs on this long distance move to North Carolina.  She has decades in the industry in different roles and it showed; very nice and very professional. Leading up to the move I worked with their coordinator Jennifer and was in touch with the Moving Supervisor - a gentleman named Spencer.  Spencer called the day before to confirm the arrival time.  He and his team arrived at the time agreed.  Spencer laid out the work plan and the team got to it.   Things were packed (many items required special treatment as I had large statues, golf clubs, and 50+ paintings).  The packing went as planned - no drama. The unpacking, which included leaving no boxes behind, was also no drama.  We had no breakage through the move (not even a glass), and Spenser make sure everything (beds, tables, etc.) were put back together right as needed. Awesome. I could not be happier with our move (1,200 miles, originating in Central NJ). This is my 8th move of more than 500 miles over the years, and by far the best. Reliable worked with us to be flexible with the pick up date (I have a broken neck and couldn't pack as quickly as I planned). When they came for pick up and we weren't ready, they would have been within their rights to pull away, charge a fee and return another day. Instead, the driver contacted the office and we worked out a fair price for them to finish the packing. They worked like (experienced and careful) maniacs, fast and efficient. Next day, the crew (3 of them) returned to put our load on the truck. I was very impressed with their load packing skills (tightly placed, which minimizes movement and the possibility of damage). Our load's weight was within 5% of estimate. (well done!). Our sales rep who did the estimate has been a driver and packer for the company, so she really knows her stuff. Reuben (the driver) kept us informed, as did our in transit coordinator. Unloading was smooth. Inventory was well managed. Everyone we dealt with was personable and professional. Floors were protected, no door frames or walls were dinged. Thank you, Reuben, and the whole team. We appreciate you! Reliable is, from my experience, "extremely reliable." ---- Moving advice: I know that each moving experience is different (as are reviews here). Read and understand the contract. You are obligated to complete payment before delivery and work out problems afterwards. Not doing so isn't an option. Don't blame them for following the contract you signed. If you don't buy additional insurance, you are limited to a "cents per pound" valuation. For anything you pack, problems are on you (I am experienced by now, so we had zero breakage). Be sure to check the inventory when things go ON the truck (everything tagged, notes on what it is) and personally check it off the list when it comes OFF the truck (each load has a different color and move ID tag). Take pictures of the any damaged items before the truck pulls away. Note problems on the paperwork you sign. Then you can approach the mover with a basis of facts (in a polite manner) and they will usually collaborate with you to resolve problems.

Smart Box's office located at 550 Division Street, Elizabeth are not to be trusted. I ordered an 8ft by 8 ft box to be delivered which it was. Understand that its a wooden box with a tarp. The driver showed me how to use it. When I went to open the box a month later. water came pouring out of it. Why you ask? Because there was a tear on the top of the box (8 FT high). I called the office and spoke to Diana Miller. She was very helpful at first UNTIL I asked what they were going to do to replace all of my xmas lights, extension cords, and possibly my generator as it was all wet. I took pictures and so did the driver. Two weeks later i was told they will do nothing; that the box was checked before it went out (which was not true) and that I should have checked it when it was delivered THE BOX IS 8 FT HIGH. WAS I TO GET ON A LADDER TO CHECK IT. The driver also apologized when we picked it up DO NOT USE RELIABLE VAN AND STORAGE IN ELIZABETH. Dont be taken in like I was! If they could take such horrible care of their clients, what will they do with your personal property?

As a senior citizen, I had some real concerns regarding my move from New York to Florida. But from the first phone call with George, I knew I was in good hands. With his professionalism and patience, we were able to determine how many boxes I would need. He hand delivered the boxes several days before the move and estimated the cost. I was then contacted by Lisa who would facilitate the move re the dates, times, etc. Wilson and his crew arrived and was expert in wrapping several items and placing onto truck. Everything arrived safely and was off-loaded with the same care and attention to detail. Everyone with whom I had contact was extremely professional and polite making the move as seamless and stress-free as possible. Many thanks to a great team for being available every step of the way!

Allied moved us from NYC to the Orlando area and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. The team that packed & labeled our belongings were meticulous organized AND we received our truckload much sooner than anticipated. The price was reasonable and the service was terrific. We'll definitely use Allied again!

The crew who loaded the truck did an exceptional job of packing all the large, delicate items and worked very hard and extremely long hours to get our job complete in a timely fashion. The crew worked very hard in the terrible heat to unload the truck at multiple stops in a timely fashion. Both crews worked tirelessly and in a most professional manner.

Hector our driver did a wonderful job. He was very professional and courteous. Company was very responsive and kept us up to date on the status of our shipment. Would recommend them again.

Excellent process from start to finish. The intake was thorough and estimate proved to be exact. Team provided follow up throughout and after the move, with phone calls returned immediately. Movers were courteous, professional, careful and worked continuously from start to finish. I could not be more satisfied and would not hesitate to recommend.

Everything went better than I could have hoped. The team was great, professional, and courteous. We were done in record time, they exceeded my expectations while even coming in under the estimate! 

The whole process, from getting the estimate to seeing the moving team off was great.

The crew that moved us was exceptional.  Everyone was professional, courteous, and friendly.  They treated our belongings as if they were their own.  Everything was wrapped and secured on the truck and after unpacking we found nothing was broken.  The crew worked almost non-stop and made the move almost painless.  We could not be more satisfied with our entire experience.

The move went without a hitch!  This company is to be commended for their efficiency and honesty, and work ethic! Not a scratch on any piece of furniture and no damage moving the furniture in and out of some rather tight spaces.

The move went well.

The game went like this. We were charged based upon the number of boxes. The estimator came up with a number, and the actual number of boxes was less. I was presented with a purchase confirmation to sign which overstated the number of boxes.

I refused to sign for the higher number and insisted it be corrected. If you use this company COUNT THE BOXES!

I took significant effort but the company finally did the right thing and gave us a credit for the difference.

We did have some minor damage valued at about $100.00.

All great - the only complaint I have is that they said their truck wouldn't fit in our building's driveway when we see other trucks like that there all the time. But on the flipside, they ate the cost on a shuttle when their truck wouldn't fit at the destination (where I had been told it would but clearly it would not work). Extreme care with our belongings. Miguel was our main guy and he was an absolute rockstar. Guys were so respectful of our stuff and I never saw them stop working.

Overall, The move was stress free and handled with care and professionalism. I had a very positive experience and would definitely recommend Reliable Van and Storage, Elizabeth, NJ,
