Bob showed up as expected on the start date. Requested and received a 50% deposit of $400.00. He and his worker (who mostly just stood around), removed the closet header and threw up some spackle (and I do mean threw up) where the header was removed. He was to return the next day to put a second coat of spackle up and prepare the room for painting. No show for 3 days, then calls and said he had been sick with the flu. Said he was all better and would be here next day at 9:00 am. No show, no call. Three days after that he showed up unannounced. He spends about 15 minutes piling on the Spackle .. a very poor Spackling job. Said he would return the next day .. haven't seen him since. No Show .. No Call, No Return Calls. His work was so bad that I decided to complete the job myself to make sure it was done correctly. Even though I have skills in completing these types of jobs .. I'm a 62 year old woman and it's not that easy for me to go up and down the ladder anymore. This is why I hired someone. Since I do have a background as a house painter, I know a good spackling job from a bad one and believe me .. his work is some of the worst I've seen. Of course he had an excuse when I pointed out that he used more spackle than he should and it was going to crack as it dried. The job was to have been completed in a week .. and we had the contents of the laundry room sitting in our living room ... all through the holidays!
