LO CHIATTO PAVING & MASONRY CO

This is unacceptable, i called several times, left messages, they almost never call back. Finally when i was able to reach some one over 6 weeks ago, Josie told me i will call you right back with the answer. IM STILL WAITING even after reaching out again and again. But how funny is that when i a few minutes ago i called and let them have it on the answering machine, they called me back right away. LOL. Trying to schedule them to come to do the work in witch we already agreed and i get no response??? VERY UNPROFETIONALS GO elsewere to get your pavement done.

We had our driveway widened and our front walkway completely redone and were very happy with the job at first. After a while the stones started coming loose and when someone stepped on one of the corner stones on the walkway the entire thing flipped up. We have been contacting LoChiatto for MONTHS to come and repair this so someone doesn’t get hurt on our property. They’ve ignored all emails and phone calls and put us on a “repair list.” When I called to follow up today after not hearing back for 3 months, I spoke to an incredibly rude woman on the phone whose nasty, condescending attitude told me all I need to know about this company. They WILL NOT stand by their work. And no, lady, I’m not asking for free repairs. They do a quick and shoddy job and never want to deal with you again. Would not recommend.

Terrible and the work has not even been done yet. I signed a contract with them in March and they promised me that when they start paving in April end/May time frame I would be one of the first people on schedule. Well I am still waiting. When I call them they always say next week and then neither do they show up or call. If you call them back and are lucky that someone picks up you are told we are busy and we'll do it next week. They keep moving you out and don't even have the professionalism to call you and inform you of the change in schedule.

I had made an appointment for an estimate to have my front porch looked at to be redone. We settled on a day, and were told that there are 2 hour windows, and that the person who would be coming would call at least 30 mins prior to arrival. I chose the 12p-2p slot. Knowing the 2 hour window, I made another personal appointment for 3pm. Logically an estimate should not take that long. My appointment day comes, and I was truly excited to be able to talk to someone about this project that I have been wanting to do. 12pm passes, at 1:50 I get a call from Charlie who called to say that he would be at my house in 20-30 minutes. Clearly this is going to be well after my window given to me. As I had an appointment for 3pm, I had to leave no later than 2:10 to make it on time. I asked why he or the office did not call to advise me that he was running late. From there, that seem to set him off and he started to get loud with me. I explained that I had another appointment, and it would have been nice for someone to call me. He then went off to tell me in a loud voice that he was with another customer and could not call himself, which I understand but the office could have called me I told him. He then asked me if I wanted him to come out or not, in which I said "if you're going to be an a-hole, no I do not." He hung up on me. I then called the front office to explain what happened, and they were apologetic and said they would get an appointment with Vito (the owner or something). So we booked a date and time. Here we are the day that Vito is supposed to arrive, and I get a voicemail from their office that Vito will not be able to make it as there are "some kind of problems over there." I called back and spoke with Lisa. She had to call me back as she wanted to talk to Vito to see what happened. Lisa called me back and said that Vito said that he doesn't want to come out as there was some type of verbal altercation with Charlie. I explained to her again what had happened, but unfortunately, they had made their decision. It's their word again mine at this point, and I'm 100% sure they will back up Charlie and try to twist things to make me look like a bad person. However, it seems as though the ethics that this company are not in line with other businesses. I truly wish they did not waste my time, but at the end of the day, it their loss. But the way the company seems to operate, it seems like they will not care. Makes you wonder about other run in's this company has had. Good news is I have found a competitor to come out to provide an estimate. If you are looking at this company to do you work, buyer beware. Although, they may have a few good reviews, you have others who just don't take the time out to write them which is unfortunate as it could shed more light on their business practices.

I would highly recommend LoChiatto Paving. Vito and his team did my Driveway Apron, Curb & gutter and Walkway. They did excellent job. The best part was that he was supposed to replace only 2 pieces of walkway, but he replaced entire sidewalk without charging me anything extra! I was not even home and when I asked, he politely said it was crooked and did not look good, so I just replaced the whole thing. They do get busy, so be patient. It took them 6 weeks to put me on schedule and get the job done, but they did it right and better than I expected. Thanks for the job well done.

Talk about pressure tactics!  
Vito, the owner, came to provide estimate.  Pleasant guy to talk to.  While he was there, he asked if I had the survey handy.  I showed it to him, and he took a picture via his ipad. The next day I got a call asking me when I wanted to schedule the job.  I told him I wanted to get a few more estimates. The next day I got a similar call.  This time I was informed that the permit was secured!  I questioned why & how.  He said that he thought I was ready.  I told him that this was not right, and that I will continue to look for other estimates. And that I will pay him for the money spent to obtain the permit if I don't go with him.
I started doing serious research and came across quite a few negative comments against LoChiatto on Google reviews.  I called LoChiatto about 6 times over a 2-month period (usually in response to their message about when I want to schedule the job) to f7nd out about their warranties and to talk about the negative reviews.  Vito or the lady who answered the phone would tell me that they will send the requested information via email.
And each time all I got was a copy of the invoice!!!
This left such a distaste in my mouth.  I did not have time to deal with this, and lost the will to deal with other contractors.   A year later, my driveway is still not done.

Very nice and knowledgeable. Had to keep asking for pictures and to get revised quote. Just gave up

We noticed after the summer that when it rain, the water goes into our garage. Upon further inspection, we noted that the driveway is sloped into our garage and the water flows in. They were contacted numerous times and finally in November 2011, someone came out and said they would return to check evelvations and get bact to us on what they would do. No one came .......we called again and again and were told they could not do anyhting over the winter so we waited until spring. Calls were never returned so we started calling on the owners cell phone. we called over and over and we were told they would fix it. As of today, 9/18/12, they still have done nothing.



UPDATE AS OF 5/11/13- THEY DID RETURN ONLY AFTER I REQUESTED A QUOTE FOR ANOTHER JOB. THEY WERE GOING TO PUT PAVERS IN THE DRIVEWAY AT THE GARAGE DOOR AND RAISE THE BLACKTOP TO SLOPE AWAY ANY WATER.  THEY INSTALLED THE PAVERS AND WATER NO LONGER RUNS INTO THE GARAGE BUT THEY DID NOT RAISE THE BLACKTOP AS THEY SAID TO SLOPE AWAY ANY WATER.  AS A RESULT, THE WATER NOW POOLS IN FRONT OF THE GARAGE DOOR.  I CALLED AND THEY DID NOT RESPOND UNTIL SOMEONE MUST HAVE TOLD THEM ABOUT THE ISSUE FROM ANGIES LIST.  THEY CONTACTED ME ABOUT REMOVING THE REPORT FROM ANGIES LIST AND I ASKED THEM ABOUT THE POOLING OF THE WATER AND I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD COME OUT TO REVIEW THE PROBLEM........A MONTH LATER THEY STILL HAVE NOT COME OUT OR CALLED

Went fine. One separator was a bit high after the slabs dried. I pointed it out and that same day it was corrected.

While LoChiatto Paving arrived on the date scheduled, they arrived much earlier than expected (approximately 6:45am, which was 1 hour and 15 minutes earlier than the town allows) and began excavating the old driveway.   They should have advised us in advance so we didn't have to scramble.   They did complete the first phase without any apparent issues and installed the Belgium block borders as ordered.  We were told the site had to settle for two weeks before they could return and complete Phase two.  When I arrived after my workday, I noticed  the block on one side of the driveway were not as vertically straight as the other side and more or less tilted to one side - not by much but very noticable.   I called the salesman to inquire about this and was told the blocks would straighted after paving.   On 12/3, the crew returned and completed paving.  However, the blocks did not straighten as I was advised.    This was disappointing.   Some people might not think this is an issue but I believe it's due to  poor attention to detail.  I was also interested in (and had received an estimate for) rebuilding a walkway and backyard patio but decided to postpone that project.  While their price for the patio work was competitive, I decided I would find another provider due to the quality issue I experienced.

called for an estimate to replace a 10 X20 ft garage floor.  I was told someone would call me back within 2 days.  That was over 3 weeks ago.  Guess the job was either too small (price should have been over $4000.) or they don't need the money, or the company just doesn't care to promote new business.
Will never call them again for ANYTHING.
