After multiple phone calls and emails by myself to Homeclick.com who insisted multiple times that the shower was approved I got the MA state board of Plumbing involved. I was told by JY in Customer service that I should have asked if it was approved for use in MA before I bought it. I called the local inspector & state BOP. They confirmed to me several times that the shower was not approved for use. I directed Homeclick.com customer service & Kohler to work directly with the plumbing board. Finally on Dec. 1st, the chairman of the board of plumbing called me to tell me that the board had approved it during their meeting Nov.29th & they were still waiting for appropriate product identification information from Kohler to be posted on the MA Board website so that the plumber and local plumbing inspector would have access to this information. Finally, Dec. 5th I was notified by the board that the approval was official & publicly available. This has severely delayed bathroom construction.
Description of Work: Kohler bath products are only sold through distributors. I am adding a 2nd bathroom. I went online to Kohler website. I found Homeclick.com as a source of Kohler showers. I ordered online & only succeeded in getting 1 part of multi-part shower. Website doesn't include enough information to purchase the entire shower package & a call to customer service is necessary. I ordered over the phone with salesman, Evan on 9/29; I purchased Kohler Body-Spa 8 jet tower and Body Spa glass corner shower enclosure as well as various plumbing parts as indicated by salesman. At this time there was disclosure as to the place of purchase, shipment & use being MA; At no time was it disclosed to me that the shower components were not approved for use in MA. This was discovered when the plumber came with the pluming inspector who confirmed that the shower was not approved for use in MA. Homeclick repeatedly refused to take shower back without a 25% restocking fee, insisting shower was approved for use.
