i had my HVAC unit replaced by them this past winter. The price was very fair and I've heard of them before so I trusted other peoples reviews. Although the new unit worked properly initially, one side of the house always remained cold. They came out one day to test the temperature and because it was not a big difference, they said nothing can be done and even charged me a fee to come out and take a look even though I spent over $6,000 for the unit less than a month prior. That part of the house was never chilly before and I am sure it is due to an improperly working HVAC.

From the beginning I've been complaining about a noise being made, although it did work. They've said from the beginning they were going to confirm with Carrier what the issue was, it did work so I forgot about it and the issue was never solved. October of 2015 the furnace started making a horribly loud noise. From the description via the phone call with Edison they diagnosed my inductor motor was failing and will break within a day or so, and came within a couple of days and replaced it. After they replaced it I noticed it was a very sloppy clean up job and the gasket was hanging over. I called in to have this fixed and they sent someone out to take care of it. When the technician came out to tidy up I made him listen to the new high pitched squeal being made by my new motor inductor that began a week or two after it was installed when it started getting really cold. He said that it was normal and will confirm with Carrier. I also asked him about the sound my furnace had been making since the day I bought it, he confirmed it wasn't normal and that my blower motor was faulty. Edison's official response was that they would converse with Carrier on both of these issues. They came back saying that the blower motor would be replaced but that the sound being made by the inductor motor was normal so would not be replaced. Also the furnace is leaking condensate at the sloppy gasket job. I have the clean this twice a day with paper towels or there would be major electrical problems. They now want to pay me to investigate the leak. This was after their extremely job with the sloppy gasket hanging over after the first inductor motor replacement. They have yet to address: 1. Faulty & Noisy Blower Motor 2. Faulty & Noisy Inductor Motor 3. Leak caused by Inductor Motor Replacement On a 4 year old furnace this is ridiculous my faith is shaken in Carrier and Edison Heating and Cooling. If I had the money I would rip it out and install a new furnace from a different manufacturer with a new installer.

All repairs were made to this system under warranty. It has been omitted that the homeowner had other people work on the system and refused to allow repairs to be completed as recommend because of advice he received from others. Everything has been resolved and this review is very misleading.

Salesperson strongly recommended a different, more expensive style of humidifier than we had in our house (we were replacing an older humidifier that was existing in the house when we moved in). We purchased the more expensive model, and when the installer came he said he actually thought the less expensive style that was already in our home worked fine. We were told we would get a call confirming our appointment date & time. When no call came I reached out by phone and email, got no response, and the installer showed up without notice, forcing us to cancel plans. Finally, the installer made a careless mistake which resulted in a kinked hose and a basement full of water 12 days after the humidifier was installed.

The members of Edison were gentlemen, knowledgeable, and very helpful in recommending a high efficiency gas boiler. We have hot water baseboard heating and the boiler they installed is very efficient and works perfectly. All the individuals that work on installing my heating and generator were experts on these units. John the Job Manager had each phase starting with permits to completion done in Military sequence. This was expensive, look what we had done: New high efficiency boiler, all gas piping, removing oil boiler & tank, fix old leaks, set up gas for stove, outside grill, & boiler, install indirect water heater. Then install generator- run gas pipe & electric to it. Install transfer switch. The electrician, Ray, wired our EL panel which was over loaded with wires. Don't know how he did it & I watched! All in all we are very pleased. How many times have you spent a lot of $$$$ and got a sh****t job.

The guy was nice and professional and hopefully that was the problem. The only "issue" I had was he left the control panel door to the boiler off the hinges and just leaned it on the front of the boiler. I know it's a minor issue but it took me just 5 seconds to put the door on the hinges (he left the boiler nice and clean). I have a service contract with them so there was no charge for the visit
Description of Work: My heat wouldn't turn on. On my BECKETT AQUASMART CONTROL it showed "Freeze Res". The technician NOTICED UNIT SPARKING A WHILE BEFORE IGNITING PILOT. ONCE PILOT WAS LIT NOTICED IT TO BE A WEAK YELLOW FLAME. BLEW OUT PILOT TUBE NOW SYSTEM SPARKED LESS PILOT WAS STRONG AND BLUE

Edison Heating and Cooling installed a 4 room, 1 condenser Ductless System for us about 5 years ago. We were not candidates for Central Air, and quite frankly, I like the Ductless System a lot more ! We can control WHICH rooms get turned on individually, and to which temperatures. It is incredibly quiet, and very economical to run ! In fact, we can operate all 4 units at once for less than it cost for ONE window air conditioner ! During the few times we needed minor maintenance, I called and Edison sent someone the SAME DAY each and every time ! They also do ALL THEY CAN to make every situation turn out right ! Edison HVAC proved to us that their claims of being the best, trustworthy, and prompt are completely inaccurate. Please read below our experience hopefully the same will not happen to you. Tuesday 9/8/2015: we called Edison HVAC for a service request. The receptionist didn?t really inquire any details about the house only what was the issue that we were calling for. The issue that we were calling for was that on the first level the temperature was much colder than the second level. They told us that to make the appointment next day would carry a $190 but if we waited two days the fee would be $90. Since it wasn?t an emergency we waited. In the meanwhile, we called another company come in (mind you that company didn?t charge an exaggerated same/next day fee) for a diagnosis. It?s always good to have two opinions. Thursday, 9/10/2015: Edison HVAC serviceman arrived during the window originally stated. I re-explained the issue again and took him to the HVAC unit. First: The serviceman touched the unit, commented that it was brand new and said everything was ok. The OTHER COMPANY opened the unit to have a closer look, even climbed on a ladder to inspect around the unit for leakage. Second: The serviceman asked to go into the attic. He pulled down the attic ladder climbed to the top stair, came back down and closed the door. The OTHER COMPANY went into the attic tested the gable fan and let me know that (a) it wasn?t working and (b) even if it was it was so outdated that we should replace it with one that has a thermostat. Third: The serviceman agreed that there was a temperature differences and measured the temperature. Fourth: The serviceman proceeded to tell me that there was zero access to the duct so there was nothing else that he can do. The OTHER COMPANY opened the vent on the second floor and stuck his head inside to further investigate. The serviceman then said he had to go to the car to call his manager. When he came back he said his diagnosis was complete and that it was time for payment. I asked for the diagnosis. He said it was a balance issue. I was shocked that was the best explanation that he could offer; I have no HVAC certification and I could have told him that from the beginning. I pressed him to further explain and he said that the next team would answer that for me and that had a labor fee attached. So I basically I?m paying $90 for a bull poop answer. It was at this time that I became upset with the quality of the service level and decided to call their home base. The receptionist transferred me to his manager who said that the serviceman had misunderstood and there was no labor fee for the second visit. He also told me that this member of his fleet was too junior and for my issue they needed almost an engineer level of experience to answer the call. Again shocked! Why aren?t all members of their fleet knowledgeable? And I live in a split-level (one out of a thousand other split-levels in this neighborhood) NOT A MANSION why is it so hard to troubleshoot?! The manager assured me that he would send someone out who was better suited to troubleshoot. He said his receptionist would be calling to arrange that. I waited 20+ hours and really with not much hope from this company called them to ask for a status on the situation. The receptionist who was friendly didn?t really know what to do as it?s the management who give them the direction and they had received none on this particular issue. They eventually transferred me to parts manager Robert who came on the phone yelling at me that he didn?t understand why I was frustrated and he didn?t want to deal with solving our issue that he would refund the money. In short Edison HVAC didn?t match their claims, this company?s poor problem solving skills is what prompted us to sit down and write a full review. We can confidently say that our experience with Edison HVAC was not the best it actually was the worst. We don?t want anyone else to waste their time like we did. We will be going with the other company.

We scheduled for AC repair servie and a technician came on Monay 8/10. He charged the initial diagnistic fee of $89 and said he will come back the next day to do the remaining things. We had specifically requested for a particular time and he said he can manage it. The next day I got a call from company that a different technician was waiting outside the house at a different time. We requested to reschedule for later time in the evening since during the work hours it was impossible for us, but they don't accomodate at all. The girl on the phone kept saying it is a company policy so they can not do anything. They don't have any customer appreciation and I would never ever recommend this service to anyone.
Description of Work: Edison HVAC proudly posts on the website as 24 hour emergency service available. But after talking to them I realized it was just a 24 hours to response to the concern. They don't really provide 24 hour emergency services.

We did offer to complete the repairs the same day while we were in the home but the homeowner refused to pay for the additional time it would take to defrost the indoor coil and preferred to allow it to defrost and have us return. The service invoice clearly has the schedule time for the following day and we showed up as scheduled. I am sorry we were not able to accommodate and additional schedule change for that day as prior calls had been schedule. We try to be as flexible as possible and do offer extended service hours but they must be scheduled in advance to ensure that a technician is available.

The job required 2 days to complete. The team arrived promptly both days. They removed the old equipment and installed the new efficiently. They put drop cloths on the carpets to keep the dust and soot in check. Since the installation was in the basement and I have no separate entrance to the basement, they had to move everything through the living room. Everything was accomplished professionally. When they left, the basement was cleaner than before they began. They were pleasant and friendly and made the whole process a comfortable experience for me.
Description of Work: The provider installed a new furnace, air conditioner and water heater. I previously heated with oil, so an additional gas line needed to be installed for the furnace.

From the first contact with Edison through the completion of installation Edison's employees were professional, helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. We were very grateful that the sales rep was able to come on a Saturday to quote the job. He spent about an hour making sure he understood the configuration of the existing equipment/ systems to make the right suggestions for replacement. Beyond simply replacing the existing equipment with new equipment, Edison did a thorough job of making some modifications to optimize the heating and cooling in our home. The gentlemen who showed up to install the new equipment were friendly, efficient, and demonstrated patience to answer the questions we had. Although Edison was not the least expensive provider, the work they performed and service they provided made the extra spend absolutely worth it.

I called to ask for pricing for maintenance agreements for a commercial unit in an office building. I spoke to Gordon who quoted me a price of $266.22 that included 2 maintenance visits a year, priority service, 10% discount on parts but not on labor and I scheduled the first visit for June 10, 2015. The understanding was that the technician will bring a contract for signature with him. Keith the technician came on time, performed the maintenance service, replaced an old part that needed replacement and asked me to pay for the service but no mention of a contract until I inquired. Keith called the main office and I called the office as well for clarification, and we spoke with a woman in the service department who informed me that Gordon did not give me correct information, that the price was too low for a commercial property maintenance, that today's visit was not part of an agreement. She also informed me that the technician will inform Mike the owner of the type of AC unit he serviced and Mike then will individually price the commercial maintenance agreement as there is no set prices for commercial properties. Each will vary according to what Mike sets. There is no way for the employees to know what that price would be or to provide a quote. I therefore informed her that the information provided by their employee Gordon was misleading and that I had no intention of signing any agreement without clear pricing policies. I paid for the individual maintenance service $284.09 and I am now expecting a call from the owner Mike about an explanation.

WOW! WHAT A GREAT JOB!! I own a home that badly needed the furnance replaced, the old being there over 50 years. One of the places I called was Edison Heating & Cooling because I heard good things about them. Robert from Edison Heating & Cooling came to the house and gave us an estimate on the price. He was very knowledgeable, punctual and professional and worked with us to determine exactly what we would need for the replacement without going crazy on price. After reviewing a few estimates from other providers, it was a "no-brainer" to go with Edison H&C. I called Robert on Monday and scheduled the installation for Thursday that same week. At 9:00 a.m. Anthony and Joe arrived and again were punctual, professional and knowledgeable. The guys were so personalable, knowledgeable, clean and neat that when they were done, the basement looked cleaner than when they started!! Both Anthony and Joe could not do enough to make sure we were happy with the service and made sure to explain how everything worked before they left. How nice to walk away feeling good about this purchase! I cannot say enough good things about Edison Heating & Cooling and would DEFINITELY recommend them to anyone looking for this kind of service.

Great job. Very professional. This was a bit of an emergency since it was freezing cold, and the furnace broke (maybe 1970s furnace?) and PSEG shut us down. (3 bedroom ranch). But we had been considering a new one anyway, and had Edison Heating in mind anyway. Called them - I think it was on a Friday - same day the furnace broke. They were at the house next morning on Saturday to quote the job. Monday morning, they were at the house at 8am - they installed in one day. Look at that time line - that's pretty good - we were impressed. We wanted a new central AC as well - did not have one at all - so we got that too. Furnace we opted for was a high efficiency furnace. Vents out of the side of the house. Central AC is a pleasure to have. (No more window ACs). So, overall, well worth it, and still working great - also have them out for seasonal checking. Would definitely recommend.

It was a coincidence that the problem occurred at the same time that they performed the maintenance to my boiler. Both Robert and Patick made a special trip out to my home and corrected the problem. Both were very nice and knew what they were talking about. Everything works great now. I really appreciate their attention in this matter. After troubleshooting and learning how the thermostat works for 3 hours looked like he had the heat working. Within a half hour of the tech leaving it was malfunctioning again. The tech also did not seem well versed in our furnace/boiler works. Called up Petro the next day (who we get our oil from) and they had us up and running in a half hour. They saw the problem the other tech missed. The tech from Edison was polite and friendly but was not trained enough for what we needed.

When I posted the first review the second problem had not occurred yet. After bleeding the system and performing the maintenance, the heat would not turn off and would not go on upstairs. They came the next day and corrected the problem. We had an additional service done because the pilot light kept going out. Now we cannot get hot water int he shower until the hot water in the sink is turned on. Again another service tech came out and informs me that I need a plumber. $1500 later and I need a plumber. Unbelievable.

The process started with a meeting with Patrick. We had gotten an estimate a year ago from him so we decided to contact him directly this time. He had been promoted so giving estimates wasn't his job anymore but he came to our house early so both of us could get to work on time. Patrick was well prepared with easy to understand forms. We checked Angie's List for other dealers and got several (higher!) estimates. We contacted Patrick to advise we had decided to go with him and he again came early on a Monday. He told us the work could be done that Friday! That Friday morning Mike and Mike were at our home at 7:00! They were wonderful! They explained what they were going to do, laid out tarps to protect our finished side of the basement and never stopped working. I asked if they wanted lunch and they said they wanted to keep working! When they were done, they explained all the work they had done, made sure we knew how to work the new thermostats and cleaned up completely. If you decide to use Edison Heating and Cooling, ask to have Mike and Mike do the job! You won't be sorry!

From sales manager Andrew to technician Ed and Nico all of them were professional and detailed oriented. I made me feel we are in safe hands and explained us all that is required being very patient with our queries (knowing I ask too many of them). They (Ed and Nico) were on time in morning and worked hard for almost 12 hours and did an excellent job. There was some confusion around expansion tank inclusion but Andrew went out of way to get it personally delivered and Installed. I would highly recommend them. Thank you.

I had an appointment scheduled for between 12-4pm. Around 3pm I received a call from the office stating that Chris was on his way. I appreciate the fact that I was told who was coming, and that the van and Chris were well marked as Edison H&C. Chris immediately put on protective booties before entering the house. Being new to the home and the heating unit Chris answered my questions politely. I will more than likely get a contract for service from this company.
Description of Work: Provider did the annual heater maintenance and checked all the radiators. Several had leaks and missing parts (just bought a new older home) Chris was kind enough to tighten the valves and took additional information so he could see if the missing parts were available.

I did number of estimates and their came as most reasonable for amount of work and equipment installed (Carrier). Sales person was very professional and took his time measuring and explaining everything. Was able to schedule installation in 2 business days. The job was done right with 2 people crew who did great job coming at 9 and done by 6. Clean, professional job that was done right. All permits obtained and paid by installer. Passed with no problem. Would not hesitate to hire them again.

Edison makes a claim they get it right the first time and that the installers are the best. This was not the experience I had. Firstly, there was a lack of grounding and it did not pass the township electrical code. They also had not installed the condenser correctly. They cancelled three appointments before they actually came out and made the repairs and correct the issues. The equipment was good and the unit does work currently. My service experience with Edison causes me to not recommend them to others.

We are sorry that your installation did not go as you expected. Unfortunately the problem with your grounding was an existing condition not corrected by our installers. We did return and make the repair free of charge even though it was outside the work we performed. The condenser was installed as per the manufactures recommendation and adjusted to meet your standards. There was an issue clarifying the existing grounding problem with your township inspector which lead to the need to reschedule the work so we could complete the tasks that he required.

Salesman give me wrong estimate have to redo the contract The installation is slow, and somewhat sloppy. The cover for the furnace was not installed until two days later. The instruction of the thermostat was missing.

The job went very well. I called the service department and Gordon responded to my request for help. As is typical this time of year, the technicians were swamped with service calls similar to mine. Initially, I was scheduled for a service call the following day. Gordon called me back and said that since I am a contract customer he will schedule a technician before the end of the day. Anthony came and diagnosed the problem and found that the blower motor unit stopped. This was not an item that is normally stocked. Anthony indicated that the service department will try to get the part for the following day. He was very professional. The following day I received a call from Loren in the service department to let me know that they were in the process of getting the part and scheduled a technician for the afternoon of 7/10. The technician, Rom, arrived and soon thereafter the new part was delivered to the job site. He installed the part and, good news, everything worked fine. Even better news, the Edison Heating and Cooling service department worked with Lennox and had them agree to provide the part at no charge since they would honor a warranty after nine years of service. My final cost was for the labor for two service calls only. All in all, a very good job by Edison Heating and Cooling and Gordon, Loren, Anthony and Rom.
Description of Work: Air Conditioning quit working on July 9, 2014. By the afternoon of July 10, new parts were installed and the problem was fixed.

Props to Mark Joseph, Edison's salesman, for not allowing me to hire another contractor with a lower estimate. Mark worked to get and keep my business. The HVAC equipment - Carrier - is high quality, and the installation of the units - one in our basement and one in our attic - came off without a hitch in 2 days. The equipment works great. Edison's staff processed and submitted the two rebates that Carrier offered, and I am awaiting receipt of the rebates, which were for about 10% of the cost.
