 + -1 moreThey installed a temporary dumpster in the front yard, and demolition went fast. They were careful that we always had one bathroom to use. They were very neat, always sweeping up at the end of the day. They were also friendly, not intrusive but happy to explain what they were doing. To install the faucets for the shower and bath in the two upstairs bathrooms, they had to cut into the wall, and patched it very smoothly and professionally. The only glitch we ran into was when one of the faucets was not properly installed, and started to leak through the ceiling again. They came and fixed it right away, however, cut the hole in the wall again and again replaced it very smoothly. John was working with his daughter as his assistant; the plumber and assistant were from Grove Plumbing. We had a designer spec out the work and select a lot of the fixtures, but John and his wife helped us obtain some of them --about $3000 of the cost was for the toilets, tub and shower base they supplied. John does not do painting but recommended a painter.
Description of Work: Upstairs bathrooms had water damage, mold, loose or missing tile, soft spots in floor. Downstairs barthoom and den had water damage to ceilings. Removed all fixtures, sealed off plumbing and electrical wires, tore out walls, floors, ceilings down to the studs. Added insulation as needed, replaced sub flooring as needed, installed mold-resistant wallboard and ceiling board. Upstairs: Replaced one nonstructural stud. Installed bathtub and tub surround in one bath, new base and wall tiles in shower stall. Electrician installed light fixtures over sinks, plugs, fan lights with vents to outside and timers. Plumber installed toilets, tub and shower faucets and drains, sink faucets. Vanities with sinks and floor tile was added at the end--large ceramic tiles. Grab bars installed in tub, shower, near toilets. Also new medicine cabinets. Downstairs powder room--the same, except no tub or shower.
