I cannot say enough about John Martino! I have had mixed experiences with home inspectors, to say the least, and John just redeemed the profession in my eyes. He called within 20 minutes of my original call (later on a weeknight - I left a message, not expecting a response), and set up the inspection within days. He sent sample reports, and told me to set aside 4 HOURS for the inspection! He was on time, took off his shoes in the house, walked us through every aspect of the home, answered questions, and showed us how things worked. If he had any doubts about anything, he did additional tests, because he did not want us to be left to handle a potentially dangerous (or expensive) issue. He sent out a sample of a substance in the attic which may contain asbestos for testing to determine whether or not it was hazardous. He had limitless patience, sent us a 90 PAGE report with photos and arrows, etc, within 24 hours! Who does that? He's been responsive to us since the inspection as well as we've encountered questions. I will happily recommend him to anyone I know! Our cost included home inspection including wood-destroying insects and radon.

John was very professional, friendly, detail, and efficient . He gave me the report next day. While he was doing the job, he explained the problems to me and willing to answer any questions that I had during the inspection.

John provided a very thorough report of the home- not only did he inspect items for safety- he also pointed out issues that we would need maintenance on a yearly, etc basis. I was a first time home buyer- so I wasn't sure what to expect- so it was reassuring to have items pointed out as either a safety concern, maintenance, etc- with an older home it is difficult to know if it is something that is normal or a true concern. John is also very patient- he answered all of our questions and concerns- and spent several hours on the home inspection. I would without hesitation hire his company again for any home inspections.

John/Looksmart did his inspection on a Friday and had an incredibly detailed 48 page report emailed over by Sunday night. Every aspect of the house was documented. The report was thorough with multiple pictures detailing his findings. We could not be more happy with his work and professionalism. I highly recommend his services.

This was my first home inspection, so I was referred to John by a family friend of mine. I was very concerned to make sure the inspector was as detailed as possible, and John did not disappoint. He showed up right on time, and immediately started walking me through everything he was documenting. As we were going through, I must have asked hundreds of questions which he had no problem answering.

John provided excellent, detailed review of the property that we were considering. Even though the property was relatively new, John found things that we hadn't considered, and saved us money i the process.

Excellent. John was an overall great guy. He showed us any and all issues the house had and also explained to us the prognosis and whether he thought it was a major or minor. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Great guy to work with and reasonably priced. My brother will actually be using him next week.

When I started looking for a home inspector I wanted someone with good credentials who had been doing it full time for a while, would not rush the job and provide a good report all for a fair price. After speaking with John and looking at his sample reports I decided to go with him for my home inspection and I couldn't be happier with my decision. John at LookSmart was beyond thorough and methodical with our home inspection; he was vigilant. We were there for almost 4 hours and I can honestly say that he covered everything while also answering all of our questions and simultaneously giving advice even when we weren't asking for it. The home LookSmart inspected for us is about 100 years old and a lot of the problems were easily recognizable to us but John really opened our eyes to a lot of things we would have otherwise not known. I would recommend LookSmart to anyone because of their thouroughness of inspection, professionalism, quality of report, and price. I will 100% for sure be using them again for future home inspections. And, fyi we ended up buying this home and 1 year later we are still just as happy with our home inspection.

John is a complete professional! We are first time home buyers and know very little about the homebuying process beside what we have read. We contacted several home inspectors for a quote and John was not only the most reasonably priced but the easiest to talk to. He showed up at the home early and began surveying the outside of the property. It was raining on that day and he didn't mind me walking around with him as he explained different things. John is very thorough and takes the time to answer any questions you may have. The inspection report was delivered as promised within 48 hours (actually delivered in less than 24 hours) with clear details and pictures included. Even after the inspection we had further questions and he always answered his phone and/or e-mail. Because of John's detailed report, we did not carry through with the deal. However, he saved us a lot of future financial headaches and will gladly use his service again as we continue our house hunt.
His price will seem low compared to many others, but don't be fooled you will get alot of information (40 page inspection report with pics, questions answered, and advice provided). John is truly awesome and helps take some of the fear out of the process.

I was in process of purchasing at townhouse when my realtor recommended John to perform the home inspection. From the first phone call to the day of home inspection, he was very easy to work with, professional and efficient. Unfortunately we walked away from the house, but I was very impressed by all the information and how well John was able to explain to me what needed fixing (I’m a first time home buyer so I was SUPER NERVOUS). He really took his time and didn't seem rushed or on a time crunch for another appointment. John Martino operates LookSmart Home Inspections.  He received a strong endorsement from another well regarded inspection company I had contacted, but was unavailable during my timeline.  John responded promptly, was a genuine, affable guy, and offered me a very fair price.  On the day of the inspection, John arrived early and had already surveyed the home exterior extensively.  Nonetheless, he brought me around to continue his inspection, and highlight what he'd discovered.  John was extremely thorough, professional, friendly and informative.  Even post inspection, he was helpful in offering advice to my wife and I as first time home buyers, in regard to followup steps for repairs.  His written report was concise, detailed, and complete with many annotated photographs.  I recommend John and LookSmart without reservation.
