Once I finally did get them out there, they showed up at the scheduled time, and the work went quickly and smoothly. They were clean, neat and respectful of the house, and even cleaned the chimney and wire brushed the soot off of the face of the fireplace before installing the insert and liner. They were very knowledgeable of the product, and had me light a fire to make sure there was proper air flow, walked me through how to "season" the insert and use it, and I had no issues with inspection. The only issue I had was the difficulty in getting them out there for what was really a quick and easy job. After six weeks of back and forth, the work was done in four hours.
Description of Work: Homescape was contracted by a retailer to install a fireplace insert and a chimney liner for me. I purchased the insert in October, the retailer told me it would be in by Jan, but I had trouble getting these guys out to actually do the work. First there were scheduling issues where if I couldn't do their date, which didn't line up with when I said I was available, i was pushed out by a week or more. Then they were hesitant to come out if there was even the chance of there being snow anywhere on the roof, even though they really only needed about 40 sq ft of clear space near the chimney, which there was. All in all, it took about six weeks to get them out, while the whole time I was sitting on three cords of wood and not getting any of the heating relief I had purchased the insert for. I finally threatened the retailer to return the insert if they couldn't get these guys out there. That seemed to work, but needless to say, when they did show up, it was a little awkward.
