Miles was wonderful to work with, a definitley master of his trade.  He explained my options and worked with me to get the cushion fixed in the most economical way.  While I was there he had many items in his shop that he is refinishing, it's amazing to see what goes into the process and his work is beautiful.  He has been in business a long time, many years of experience.

On one chair, the leg had given way when someone sat down, because the reinforcing dowel in the joint had broken. The other two chairs needed to have the leg joints re-glued because the chairs wobbled when someone sat in them. The proprietor explained that the glue in the joints had dried out and no longer held the joint together. In repairing the chairs, to get a solid joint, he would remove the upholstered seats and take the legs off, thoroughly clean the joints and reinforcing dowels, re-glue and clamp the chair legs and then re-assemble the seats. He said to allow him four or five days to complete the work. He called after two days to say the chairs were finished. In this case, I dropped off the chairs and picked them up (on larger jobs, I believe that you can arrange for pick up and delivery). The workmanship was excellent: the chairs are now solid, and there is no sign of any excess glue, etc.
Miles Upholstery was the only vendor we considered because, on two previous occasions, we had (1) our living room sectional sofa and arm chairs reupholstered and (2) the seat cushions on these dining room chairs reupholstered by Miles and had been very pleased with the work and the price.

He is kind and courteous. His price is good. He is wonderful. I have used him several times, and I will use him again in the future.
