I reported that the central air conditioner was occasionally tripping the circuit breaker.  The technician arrived promptly on the same day several hours after I had called to make an appointment.  He was courteous and professional.  He checked the power (voltage) and amperage of both the compressor and the condenser fan, both of which were within manufacturer specifications.  He found the unit to be low on coolant and added 1/2 lbs of puron.  He then tested the temperature across the coils and determined that it was within the recommended range.  He told me to keep a log of date and time as to when the unit trips the circuit breaker in order to better diagnose the problem and to call them if it happened again.  He had asked my approval to add the coolant and explained everything he had done as well as the charges listed on the bill.   I am satisfied that he did everything he could do to solve the problem but as he explained, it may very well be due to random spikes in the electrical service.

The technicians made 2 visits.  On the 1st visit, they diagnosed the problem with the furnace as a defective blower motor and charged $125.00.  The head technician explained everything to me in a clear and professional manner, showing me that the non-working motor was drawing over 4 amps but was rated for only 1.5 amps.  He said that he would order the part and call me to schedule another appointment.  That was Monday.  Two days later he called on Wednesday and we scheduled an appointment to have the new motor installed.  Two technicians showed up Wednesday and installed the new motor.  They ran several different tests to ensure that the furnace was operating correctly.  They charged $355.00 for this 2nd visit.  I was impressed with their honesty and especially satisfied with the price since I had expected to pay significantly more and not knowing the cost of the blower motor they could easily have charged double the price and that would have seemed justifiable.  One of the technicians did say, in the 1st visit, that his boss does not like to overcharge people, and I guess he wasn't kidding.  He also told me in the 2nd visit the blower motor was $255.00 which also seemed extremely reasonable.  They took about 45 minutes overall for the 2nd visit and obviously worked efficiently and expertly.

we had a leak of water because of the blockage which resulted in water collecting on the attic floor and seeping down to a bedroom closet.
