Offcamber Autosport

Offcamber Autosport has been fantastic to work with.  Mo and his crew are professional, hard working and put their customer's interests first.  I used OCA for two separate services:

1) Track car preparation - Mo helped me select a great car to build for the track.  On my own, I would have spent way more money and likely not known the most important things to look for.  The shop then did a top to bottom inspection and preparation to make sure that the car was ready for Watkins Glen.  Mo has consistently helped me spend wisely and I have avoiding wasting money on expensive items that aren't necessary or beneficial to my goals.

2) Race track support - I brought all my tools to the track and could have left them at home!!  I had no idea what to expect, but was blown away.  From a dedicated parking spot to inspections between sessions to the espresso machine, I seriously never had to lift a finger.  Most importantly though, Mo's coaching helped me have more fun and go faster than I could have imagined.  Mo was clear in communicating instructions, helped me pick good goals for each session and diagnosed the aspects of my driving that need most work.

Mo was professional. Car was dropped to the shop by the seller. Mo took it apart and sent me a list of parts needed to be ordered. We went through the list line by line. Parts were put together, engine tested fine. Mo met me half way between his shop in NJ and Washington DC to drop it off. 

Similarly my BMW M3 had its rod bearings replaced. Have nothing but praise. Thank you.

I'm out on the track and then end of a track weekend, my clutch pedal goes in and doesn't come back. I get towed off the track to the paddock by the nice people at NJMP. At this point, I'm over a hundred miles away from home?paddock thinning out quickly?and am not sure how to proceed. One of the fellow drivers from BMW CCA introduces me to Mo from Offcamber Autosport. It may not sound like it, but this is already a happy ending!

Mo diagnoses the problem on the spot, gives me best to worst case scenarios of what to expect once the car is inspected on the lift. We discuss options and talk about my needs not only in the moment, but with the car in general. At this point Mo looks at my predicament and effectively takes over worrying about my car?calling AAA, arranging the tow (from a race track mind you) and nursing it 150 miles back to his shop?while I am free to worry about securing a ride home.

I knew immediately that my car is in good hands not only by the way he treated me, but by the flocks of people that came over to either a) be supportive and throw their word in behind Offcamber Autosport or to b) to inquire about unrelated mechanical issues of their own. Mo is in demand and his team's reputation is excellent and hard earned. 

Mo stayed in touch while the car was with them, sending me pictures and being very responsive. It is also clear that Mo did his research and kept my needs in mind before making recommendations. He recommended a less aggressive, tough, clutch kit with a lighter, steel, flywheel. Exactly what was needed for this New York City daily driver and occasional track toy.

This is not a one man show. Mo hires people that he can trust to do great work, goes to them for advice, and listens. His guys at Offcamber recommended a different brand that works better in my car. In the end that's what we went for, a Clutch Masters. When I went to pick up my car and it felt like a tight group of friends as much as a well run business.

It's a happy day when you find a mechanic that you can trust; it's an even better day when you find a bunch of them under one roof. I'm sure of one thing, everyone at Offcamber Autosport will treat you, and your "metal half," right.

I made an appointment to bring my  older M3  in for this particular service. Mo, the owner, a real "gearhead" and BMW specialist, made sure the car was brought in promptly, and the work was performed in reasonable time, and it seemed to me for a very fair price etc. Very honest place and will not try to upsell  you something you may not want or need.

I needed work done immediately and they were able to squeeze me into their schedule that day. The staff was very professional and they did excellent work quickly. The waiting area was private and had a very comfortable couch and a Keurig (yay!) I was easily able to get my work done. I highly recommend taking your car here.

The owner of Offcamber was very knowledgeable about the products I was interested in, and he and his staff were extremely skilled and professional with the installation.  They went above and beyond by continuing to work with me to and the camber plate manufacturer to work out the bugs in the product (the camber plates were an early prototype that I agreed to evaluate for the company), and ensure that my car was at its best for performing on the track - without compromising daily driving livability.
The owner of Offcamber is a racer and HPDE instructor, and it shows in his knowledge and enthusiasm.  After a short conversation with him, I was sold on his philosophy of working on high performance cars: a measured approach to upgrades, with emphasis on accessibility for the driver's current skill level.
The car feels great on the track now, and I have a plan mapped out on the next performance modifications to pursue as my driving skill increases...  thanks Offcamber Autosport!

Excellent service provided. Mo (owner) is the most pleasant person I have ever dealt with. Off camber is the only auto mechanic repair shop that I would let touch my Dodge Charger. Very versatile in so many different aspects. It is very hard to find a trustworthy mechanic nowadays. I would absolutely recommend off camber autosport to anyone who shows passion and care for their vehicle.

I started going to Offcamber Autosport for regular maintenance on my car when the dealer service agreement ran out and the dealer suddenly told me I had huge issues with the car. Mo and his mechanics have always taken the time to explain in more detail or show me on the car what is being repaired and answer any questions. In the case of some expensive repairs the dealer recommended, they told me honestly that there was no need to make the repair, though I had expressed I was looking for a quote on that work as well. When I did experience a major issue with the car due to timing chain failure, they were extremely helpful in keeping in touch with me through the time they had the car, and also went the extra mile to help me process the claim with a third party vehicle warranty I had purchased through the dealership, and got the repair covered! I will keep coming back for all my vehicle maintenance needs because of the truly excellent service OffCamber Auosport provides. As a woman, it is so hard to find a mechanic who will not be dismissive, patronizing, or just rude, and I am so glad I found a shop full of honest and nice people to bring my car to when she needs a little (or a lot) of love.

The process involved a long series of troubleshooting because the overall failure was hidden behind a number of other related parts failures that all needed to be fixed together. Off Camber took care if the problems systematically and without throwing unnecessary parts at the problem. Mo and his team were very open and communicated the process clearly. The troubleshooting spanned several days, but was not a simple fix such as a brake job, so it was a major relief knowing that the problem was resolved, and involved reaching out to Chrysler for additional help which was provided.

Ive used Off Camber in the past, and will continue to do so because of their excellent service and open policy about when repairs are and are not needed on a car. They wont push a repair unless it impacts the car or your safety, and they do an excellent job with following up and insuring the job was done and is working well. They handle my Magnum just as well as they handle my Mercedes, and its not easy to find shops that will take on daily drivers and weekend sports cars.

Really good these guys take the time to the work right.  If you want your car safe for HIgh Performance Driving Education (HPDE) or a race Prepped car in North Jersey ... look no further.
