MJM CONSTRUCTION

Overall, it went okay, but there seemed to be a lack of communication among the 2 crews and the owner as to how the fences were to be installed. For instance, in removing an old fence, they at times did not use the old hole for a new post and didn't bother to fill in the old hole. However, what really upset me is the contract specifically stated they use a certain stainless steel nail to prevent rusting and rust streaks. The contract not only stated it, but we talked about it. Well, now the nails are rusting, so I have to assume they did not use rust proof stainless steel nails. Because of this, I cannot recommend MJM Construction.

Overall MJM Construction did a great job in making repairs: fixing roof leaks, resetting our gutters for correct pitch, adding missing downspouts & gutters, installing roof ridge vents, installing new fypons, replacing chimney siding trim that was the wrong shade, installing j-channel along the rake boards & other areas to prevent problem of carpenter bee access. (We requested the 1st co to cover the rake boards with Tyvek to resolve our bee problem, but they ignored our request & offered no solution, such as using j-channel, which is what MJM recommended.) After the 1st co replaced all the roofs, we noticed black streaks running down a particular side of each building. When pointed out to the 1st co, & with all their professed experience, they did nothing to correct it, but MJM did. Why? MJM Construction understands the importance of customer service & in being honest & candid. We are glad to have hired MJM when we did, but we would have been happier if we hired them from the start.

The old roof was replaced for preventative measures. It had never leaked and there were no problems, but because the warranty had expired we thought it prudent to have it replaced. Since being replaced the new roof has had ten separate leaks. Each time the contractor would respond within two or three days and put some caulk on the leaking area. The next time it rained there would be another leak (this was in the span of 18 months). The last time we sprung a leak the contractor failed to make repairs when called and didn't return calls.
