Joe Doran Custom Carpentry

Finish product looked good I was satisfied at first.  One week after he was finished noticed water stain on sheeting in tub area. He came back and saw stain and installed caulking.  Problem still persisted. He was supposed to come back and redo sheeting he did not show 2 days in a row when he said he would come.  I have called him almost everyday since August 23 and he has not answered my calls. Checking further I found that he did not give a dedicate line and circuit breaker as stated in contract,  also faucet is leaking and he used old values and did not tell me I needed new ones. Faucet is loose because lock nut for faucet is broke.

I was extremely satisfied with the whole process from quoting to finishing the work. Joe was very responsive when I explained what I was trying to do. He was out my house in a few days to look at the ceiling and turned around with a quote in 24 hours. He completed the project on time and took all my requests into consideration. He did not leave until I was happy with the final result. I had other contractors look at that ceiling and no one wanted to touch it because it was tricky to install. Joe, on the other hand, was enthusiastic about it and excited about the project.
A couple of side notes:1) Joe's quote was significantly lower than others I had received and the quality of his workmanship was excellent2) I am picky about the cleanliness of my house and Joe and his sons did a great job keep the dust/debris to a minimum.3) Joe was willing to hear my requests out and treated me with respect which i don't always get from men the trade who, in my experience, tend to shrug my comments off and think I don't know what I want. I really appreciate Joe professionalism!

This was a project we squeezed in after Joe did a larger master bathroom project for us. We did not do much planning before hand as we decided quickly to do this new work while Joe was here. As was the case with our master bathroom project, the quality of the work performed by Joe, Eric and Steve was very good, and we were very happy with the finished product.
The only difficulty we ran into was related to our rushing into the project. The design we chose for the floor tile looked good when it was laid out, but it turned out differently than we expected when it was installed. After some back-and-forth and miscommunication by both parties, the problem was resolved. In the end, we were happy with both the quality and appearance of the work.

A handyman that was working for us referred us him.  He replaced our master bathroom.  He told us he does kitchens as well.  Right now we are waiting for a permit from the township; he is going to do a porch for us.  I am looking forward to it.

The entire experience was excellent. Joe submitted a timely and very competitive estimate and stayed within that estimate except for additional work we added. Joe made suggestions, and actually helped us to pick out most of the fixtures and finishes we needed, then transported them to our house.
The work began as scheduled and finished within the anticipated timeframe. The quality of the work was excellent, the work area was cleaned up at the end of each workday, and Joe, Eric and Steve were very respectful of our home. Tarps were not only installed near the work area, but they were also installed throughout the path to the work area. Each morning before work started, Joe would discuss what was planned for the day, and he would fill us in on the progress made at the end of each day. For those materials that we still needed to purchase, Joe would give us a few days notice to ensure we had enough time to do what we needed to do.
As I said, the workmanship was excellent. The finished product looks great and we were given ample time to develop a punchlist throughout and at the end of the project, which was promptly resolved. While good workmanship was expected, what we did not expect was how easy it was to work with Joe and his two sons. They made many suggestions that we usually excepted, and every suggestion we had was fully discussed prior to reaching a conclusion. Joe, Eric and Steve are very proud of the work they do, and they always went well out of their way to ensure that they were meet our needs. They were all very easy to work with, and they made the process we were dreading a pleasure
We plan to continue relying on Joe Doran Custom Carpentry for future projects in our home, and I would confidently recommend them to others.

Joseph Doran Custom Carpentry Joe Doran was the foreman of our renovation project. This job was our first involvement with a contractor.  We were apprehensive about the work to be done.  Joe and his team were always courteous, well-mannered and considerate of our family and our needs when they were in our home. They came each weekday and worked all day.  They held a daily meetings with us before they began working, sharing and explaining to us what was to be accomplished that day.  There were times when we wanted certain things done, once they explained the pros and cons of our ideas we came to a mutual agreement and are really happy that we did. They were very knowledgeable and had practical input to share.  They possessed great insight, patience, and held honest opinions.  They were also willing to accommodate us by answering all of our questions and dealing with our concerns.  They always listened to us and gave us what we wanted unless the idea was too unusual.  We were pleased with the workmanship and the speed with which the project was completed. We are so happy with the work that was done and will absolutely refer Joe and his team to our friends and neighbors.  Joe is our guy when we need work done.
