We really wanted to give Chris a good review since we like him as a person and craftsman. Chris and his team did a good job with the concrete work and for the price, we are satisfied with the work. Unfortunately, every other aspect of the job was the worst contractor experience we’ve ever had and we can not recommend him. Chris didn’t show up more than half of the time he was supposed to and when he did, he was hours later than he said he would be. Chris “finished” the job on June 29th but left loads of debris/ trash, tools, and chemicals for antiquing the concrete in our pool area. He told us that day he’d be back that Monday to fix the pool gate they accidentally concreted in too high and fix the stone edging he had to remove to get his vehicles in. He never showed that week and In the almost two months that have followed, Chris has told us over 15 times he was coming to fix the gate and edging, only to never show up. Twice our 16 month old baby has gotten into the pool area due to the gate never being fixed and by the grace of god, we got to him before fell in. We shared this with Chris along with pictures of the baby trying to get into the pool area to attempt to somehow get through that we need him to finish his job for the safety of our children but nothing worked. We even have had the pool guy that recommended him reach out but Chris just continues to say he is coming and never does. Chris is a nice guy and does good work. However, there is no excuse for not finishing the job you were paid to do, deceiving us by saying you are coming and never showing up, and putting children in danger. If you have to use Chris, do not pay him until the job is done and be prepared to chase him to have the job completed.

Chris and his crew did an outstanding job of installing our new,  larger patio.  They were punctual and extremely hard-working.  They were also very friendly and willing to answer any questions and explain each step as they went along.  Chris is easy to work with, and he really knows his business.  He quoted us a very fair price (well below our other estimate), and we couldn't be happier with the outcome.  I would recommend Chris and his company to anyone looking for concrete and masonry work.  You won't be disappointed.

It went excellent!! Took a week to complete. Clean, neat, and professional. End result is a gorgeous patio.

Our experience with DC Construction was wonderful and we'd recommend them to anyone considering a stamped concrete project for their home. Chris came out to give an estimate in person (while two others asked for photos to be sent) and was flexible with the starting date once we gave them the green light. He had a lot of suggestions and gently guided us through the decision-making process, but never trying to change our minds about what we wanted - it was more of a fine-tuning of our ideas to make the project the best it could be. They showed up on time every day, worked hard throughout the day and always left the work area neat at the end of each day. They even allowed us to add a lot of yard waste we had on our property to their truck, which was appreciated!
     Each day had a target to achieve and the targets were met each day. First day - removing old brick walkway and wooden frame that held it in place, removing bushes, mulch and dirt from site, and building the frame for the concrete which was to arrive the next morning. A lot of work, but all accomplished smoothly. Second day - concrete arrived, it had the color added to the truck and this was mixed 15-20 minutes before they started to pour. It was at this point that their true talents kicked into gear as the big gloppy pour was turned into a baby-bottom smooth surface and then the illusion of a brick border and sandstone slate surface was created. The stamp of a large sun with wavy rays was added after discussion and confirmation about where it would look best and what colors would look be best to use to make it look nice with the house and the whole project. It came out beautifully! The "brick" border was framed out and poured in such a way as to have them protrude and inch or so from the patio to give the appearance of them being real bricks. Chris worked hard to make the brick color match the house bricks as closely as possible and succeeded in making a good match. The surface of the concrete was textured to give it the look of stone and the slate pattern was stamped in with great attention to detail and precision.
     Third day - lots and lots of finishing touches, completely removing frame, adding accent colors to surface, painting the sun, cutting expansion joints (done cleverly following seams in slate pattern vs. straight line cuts visible on many website's projects), the project was power-washed (as was the entire driveway), sealed twice, caulked along the house, connected very cleanly to the driveway, and so on. Lots and lots of finishing touches...
     In addition to the project, which has drawn a lot of attention from our neighbors and family, they poured a square yard pad for us in a different part of our yard and re-poured the stoop coming out our back door at no extra charge to us.
     All in all, a wonderfully completed job completed by a hard-working and talented crew!

The job went great and I will definitely be calling them back when I get the money for my driveway to be done this way!  The guys were super clean the whole time they were here, keeping everything out of the way of me getting in and out for work.  There was no trash left and they actually cleaned my whole driveway and side of house before they left.
