SK Construction was hired to install new sliding glass door, that were replacing a double hung window. Sean was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the Anderson sliders that were being installed. He was creative and gave suggestions to help enhance the moldings around the door frame for a custom look. The project was finished quickly and neatly and the crew was very easy to work with. Would definitely hire SK Construction in the future!

My wife and I couldn't be more pleased! Sean, the contractor, came to our house, took measurements and gave us a written estimate in a few days. When his crew, who have been working with him for many years, arrived on the first day, they put down plastic throughout the house. They were real craftsmen and very neat. They knew exactly what had to be done! They vacuumed and cleaned up the area after each window installation. The job took less time than anticipated. At the completion of the job and before they left, they made sure that outside around the house was cleaned up also.

This is the 3rd time we used SK Construction (Denville, NJ) and each time we have used Sean and his crew, we have Never been disappointed!! We did get 3 other estimates to rebuild our deck. Sean's estimate was just a bit higher than the others, but I knew his workmanship and his crew so decided to use him once again (previous job was to replace windows in our home and to put in a picture window in our kitchen, which looks beautiful. In fact, I was concerned that when his men took out the old windows in the kitchen and replaced it with one big picture window, I thought they would need to break some backsplash tile. Never happened! The crew is so good and so professional and most importantly, know what they are doing, not one tile cracked). The first time we used SK Construction was a few years ago when we replaced our trash compactor with a hidden garbage can. I was so impressed with his crew. They did a fabulous job and knew then that I found my contractor to do other work in the house, if warranted. Sean was very responsive to my emails and telephone calls. He designed the new deck(s) to our specifications and got the permits needed from our town. The job was scheduled for about 3 weeks time and it was finished a few days after the 3 weeks. Of course, since the work was all outside, and with some rain we had, that delayed the finishing of the job. The deck(s) came out so beautiful. In fact, when the inspector came out to issue our final permit, he told me he was very impressed with his work. That is something. The crew cleaned up after the days work and would answer any questions I might have had. I so highly recommend SK Construction. Run, don't walk, to your phone and hire the company!!

SK Construction was great! The owner of the company, Sean, was really nice to work with and had many great ideas to help us design our kitchen/dining area. We hired SK Construction to redo everything regarding our kitchen including taking down walls, relocating a door and window and moving our laundry room upstairs (his idea which has made my life so much easier!) Our laundry room was attached to the kitchen and down a step. Sean's idea to move it upstairs to our loft and level the room with the kitchen provided us with much more space. We had new hardwood floors installed, cabinets, countertops, window, door, plumbing, electricity, painting, etc. We have a fireplace in the kitchen that he updated for us (his idea) and it looks awesome. From the beginning we had no doubt that Sean and his crew would do a good job. Sean kept us updated daily on who was coming to our house and what would be done each day. All of the workers were very nice and knowledgable in what they do and I was very comfortable leaving them in the house. I honestly cannot say enough good things about all of the workers. Another nice thing was that my house was always clean when they left! Sean kept to our budget very well and would always inform us of any issues or concerns. He is reasonably priced and the end outcome is all worth it. I feel that he was very honest with us and truly cares about his work. I would highly recommend SK Construction to anyone looking to remodel!

I hired SK for Master bath several years ago.  Was very happy with workmanship, professionalism
etc so we expanded scope of work to second bathroom following year.  We then hired SK for a major kitchen expansion and sun porch winterization in 2015.

Sean ( owner of SK ) was personally involved through all of the projects.  He has many subscontractors that he works with and they are all top notch.  Quality of work was excellent and they were all very professional, accommodating, friendly etc.  We were very comfortable leaving them for hours at a time working on the house and never had any issues with that. 

Pricing was competitive.  We shopped around for pricing on the bathrooms and found their pricing to be very competitive.  When it came time to do the kitchen, we did not shop around for pricing.  We had a good expectation of cost and the SK estimate came in around where we expected.  We probably could have shopped around and found a bid that was lower by10% or more --- but were not willing to take the risk of an unknown contractor doing shoddy work.  With SK we knew that based on the previous bathroom work that we were going to have a contractor who went to whatever lengths necessary to ensure the job was done right with quality. 

Scope of work included :
     - complete demo of kitchen
     - expansion of kitchen by 50% including new foundation
     - construction of new roof over expansion
     - replace existing roof over non expansion areas
     - construction of deck and stairs
     - demo and winterization of sunporch
     - complete flooring replacement in all construction areas

When doing a major renovation - there are always surprises and unexpected changes that need to be made.  Sean was very good about minimizing costs associated issues identified along the way.  In the end, we came in about 5-10% above budget - however most of that was driven by plumbing and electrical changes that we requested along the way. 

Duration of project was longer than expected but most of that was delays on our side choosing tile, granite etc.  In general, SK works very quickly.  When doing the bathrooms we had a tough time keeping up and were always rushing to choose fixtures etc because SK was ready for the next phase and we weren't.  Best to have as much picked out in advance as possible because once they get going -- work will progress very quickly.

Sean was on site frequently throughout the project ensuring his subcontractors worked to specification.  He made it a point to identify and get approval for any changes that needed to be made along the way and he always did so with our best interests in mind -- ensuring good design and cost consciousness.  I found him to be extremely knowledgeable about all facets of constructions which was very welcome for the inevitable design tweaks that need to made as projects such as these progress.

I would highly recommend SK for major renovation projects.

From start to finish the workmen were honest and reliable.  Nicest people you could work with.  They cleaned up after themselves making our lives bearable.  A  6 - 8 week kitchen remodel with all the additional work necessary turned into 3 1/2 months.  No complaints at all and will be using them in the very near future.  If you are looking for a contractor for your home, be sure and use

They were very professional. I felt the price was in the middle for the job. They went out of their way to help me make good decisions on what needed to be done.

Actually, they're very good. They're pretty competitive like they're not very high or not very low. I like that they were there when they said that they would be, they were on time and the estimate that they gave you includes everything and the numbers that are true to your budget. I really didn't have to worry having them in my house. I felt really comfortable and the owner named Sean will come by and makes sure the job was well done. They are more in the middle of the road and you can work with them. It's just nice to get a cheaper price. That was very good and the painting was great. The tile also came up beautiful. He started and finished on time but sometimes he was a little late for maybe a half an hour.

Sean is a tireless professional who has done multiple builds for my family. I choose him because I was in a time of crisis and knew he would be able to complete the job fast and with honesty and professionalism. Sean also provided me with friendly advice which helped me overcome the tremendous hardship I was experiencing at the time. Having many other repairs to complete he also provided me with free advice which helped me compete projects myself. His crew is professional and they clean up after their done. His subs are outstanding and true masters in their crafts. He makes certain your happy with the job.
