Perfect! It's hard to believe. I interviewed 8 contractors and spent hours on line researching. After choosing Clockwork I discovered Steve lived in my town. We didn't know a single person in common! I'm 75 years old and have had my share of house contractors. Steve is a gem. He was so helpful along with building the most beautiful deck I could imagine. Between us we came up with ways to solve problems. I thought of some of the problems, he thought of some and solved all. He is so well respected that there was no delay in getting permits and everything went off without a hitch. He returned every call and email promptly. He gave me plenty of notice if anything got delayed. I left my house open without a qualm. I Their orange t-shirts are amusing and noticeable enough that you can always find them when you need them.

I am very happy with the work quality, the craftsmanship is great, they communicate well and are customer service oriented, everything was done up to code, and they are very skilled tradesman.

Steve came promptly after I called for an estimate. He gave us design pointers we didn't think of, which is what made me hire him other than his reasonable quote. He promised to finish the deck by the end of the month and finished 5 days earlier than promised at the agreed price. He did an excellent job and the whole experience was simply great.
Steve and James were nice, pleasant to work with and very professional. I trusted them completely and was very happy with the end result.

Contractor was polite and on time. He did a good job of replacing the section of roof. But I found shortly afterwards the facial board immediately adjacent to patch was also completely rotted. He should have recommended that this also be replaced while the roof board was removed. Not a very professional job.

I had a HORRIBLE experience with a previous contractor that built a new pressure treated wood deck. After having fired this original contractor for neglecting to get a permit from my town, doing shoddy work and screaming profanities at me when I asked why he hadn't gotten the permit and why the deck railings were not strong and and were wobbly I contacted 3 other contractors for quotes of what needed to be done to properly correct this contractor's sub par work. Of the 3, I went with Clockwork Construction. The reason I chose Steve/Clockwork was because, it was my impression, he was knowlegeable, professional, answered all my questions thoroughly and his ideas for the corrections made sense to me.
As an aside, this contractor had the audacity to sue me in small claims court- where he lost due to not having applied for a permit, having no dually executed contract and a multitude of consumer fraud infractions.
I contacted Steve as soon this all happened and explained what had transpired and that I needed someone to basically clean up after this original contractor. He asked a number of pertinent questions regarding the state of the deck and then came to take a look at it that same evening.
All of what Steve stated as needing to be addressed was confirmed by the town inspector.
I needed to have a completely new staircase built ,since the one installed was not to code and shoddily constructed, additional railings put on for more stabilization as the existing one was, in my opinion and the town inspector's, not as sturdy as was required and flashing along the side of the deck that met the foundation of the house which the prior contractor totally neglected to install.
After having such a terrible experience with the first contractor, working with Steve was a pleasure. Clockwork finished the job in the best way possible given the pre-existing problems. Steve came up with a way to best secure the railings, which he knew were of great concern to me, and it worked very well and was aesthetically more pleasing than the original ones too! When you speak with Steve you feel like this guy knows what he's talking about... he's very direct and concise.

Steve and his son, James, were professional, conscientious, polite, knowledgeable, on time, never left a mess even during the construction and always available to answer a question.
I would highly recommend Clockwork Construction to anyone who is looking for a reliable, honest and quality-minded contractor.
They were a pleasure to work with and I will be call them for any additional work.

When Dan met with us, he brought his portfolio of past projects. His prices were quite fair. He kept us informed during every step of the process. He finished the deck on time. His staff was friendly and they cleaned up after themselves. We will hire him again when another project comes up!

I CALLED ELEVEN CONTRACTORS AND ONLY THREE CAME OUT AND THIS WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT SPOKE ENGLISH AND HE EVEN BROUGHT HIS OWN LADDER ALONG TO GET ON THE ROOF TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE. HIS WORK IS INCREDIBLE AND HE IS INCREDIBLE. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THEM.

THEY WERE EXCELLENT ALL AROUND. I WAS SO IMPRESSED I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO TELL YOU. THEY CLEANED UP EVERY DAY. THEY WERE ON TIME. THEY ARE AN AWESOME COMPANY. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.
