BUYER BEWARE! BUYERS REMORSE! I hired George and Stay Cool Heating & Cooling as I was looking for an honest & reliable contractor who I could count on for years to come. After installing my replacement HVAC equipment last summer, he and his team were nowhere to be found. George had promised to assist me in claiming my state-funded rebates and even insisted that he’d take care of it due to the amount of paperwork they ask to submit. Upon the months following my install, I could not get a call back from George or his team via his direct cell phone or calling the main number to the office trying to follow up on the rebates. Voicemails and messages were left unanswered. Only 5 months after the installation did George return my call and offered to send me a check for the unfiled claims with the state (you have 180 days to file from install). Still nothing was sent to me. One year later, I spoke with George again after leaving a very frustrated voicemail and he repeated the same, that he would send me a check. Two months after this phone call, still nothing was received. I see a lot of positive reviews here so I’m not sure if you all have received your rebates with George’s help and this is just some form of discrimination against me. This is an easily resolvable situation but has ended up with much frustration. I would not recommend George and his team to anyone.

George ALWAYS comes through! He saved the day again today. I tried to install a WiFi enabled thermostat myself, only to find that I couldn’t do it. I called and George not only called back, but was at the house within a few minutes and had everything working a few minutes after that! I could not possibly ask for more. He’s come through in a pinch with heating and air any time I’ve needed him. He’s honest, easy to understand, has the best prices and does the highest quality work I’ve seen. What more could anyone possibly ask for?

Stay Cool Airconditioning did an excellent job! They showed up when they said they would. The owner was on the job each day. They really thought about how to run the lines to be the most aesthetically pleasing. They supplied the longest warranty of any contractor that gave me an estimate- 12 years on parts and compressor and 5 years on labor. I'm very pleased with the work they did!

George Touloumis and Evan just completed the final run-through of our new air conditioning system. I was nothing short of astonished as to how we had cool air in places that had never cooled previously! I liked the idea of dealing with an owner/operator as opposed to a hired hand who has no vested interest in doing anymore than the minimum. When George was creating our original estimate, he pointed out all of the flaws in our previous system, and his observations were spot on! Not only did George enthusiastically indicate the improvements we would see (and which were delivered), but he came in at $3000 plus under other estimates received. George designed and revised the PERFECT AC plan to suit my older home. His ideas were creative yet realistic; he even used a paper replica of the exact size and shape of an AC "head" to show EXACTLY how the units would fit in the chosen locations. He further took the initiative to explore the codes/requirements in my town which enabled him to explain my project specifically rather than in generalities. The professionalism and attention to detail of this team are extraordinary. Right up to installation day, they reviewed, discussed and revised the details of the plan. During the work process, George and Evan respected my home as their own and left it as they found it...no mess at all. Their teamwork is impressive. In addition to being pleasant and personable, they are clearly masters at their craft. This project was a lot more work for the installer than I thought, but they worked diligently and finished in 3 days. I would highly recommend Stay Cool to anyone considering installation of a Split System of cooling and heat pump capability. George the Owner, Evan and Tim provided a system that met our needs and then some. I currently rely on my oil fueled hot water and steam system for all of my heating needs until I had this system installed early November of 2019 (my home is of the 1923 vintage with limited space for conventional ducting of central air). To my astonishment I fired up my boiler only a handful of times this heating system, relying primarily on the heat pump ability of the newly installed system. My projected savings should be over $1000 this heating season. In addition I now have a fully air conditioned home with 6 separate units and 2 external compressor units. The entire system is extremely quiet and only required 3 days for full installation, I was originally concerned about the exterior look of feed lines to these units, but thanks to George, the lay out he envisioned minimized the impact, and consolidated lines. The work was clean and minimally invasive. The workmanship was equally impressive. As an added bonus there are energy incentives available through the state, and this job was one of the least expensive of the price quotes I had received. George came on 7/14 /19 and provided an estimate that I feltwas fair and we set a date for George to replace our old system on Wednesday 7/24/19. This was at the beginning of the intense heatwave thatlasted to Monday 7/23/19, including Saturday 7/20/19 and Sunday 7/21/19. Saturday 7/20/19 at ten pm our old system died, I calledGeorge and he came down early Sunday morning 7/21/19 to try to get the system upand running until 7/24/19. I felt this was very considerate and greatlyappreciated it. On 7/24/19 George showed up with his crew bright and earlyas promised and they began the process of replacing our old system. They came in and put tarps on the carpets toprotect them and proceeded to efficiently and systematically replace the oldsystem. I found George and his crew to be extremely polite andpersonable, I also found that the price he quoted was the price he charged withno last-minute charges or changes. George made an extra effort to explain anything that he felt I should beaware of and offered me choices when they came up. The system was installed quicker than I expected, and theycleaned up and removed any debris that had been created and left the house and groundsjust as clean as they found it. At this point I am very pleased with the whole experienceand would highly recommend George and his crew to anyone contemplating having acentral air conditioning system installed.

Left two emails through Angie's List. Got no response. Called and spoke to a woman there who said we would get a call concerning technician's availability to check our system and give us a quote to fix it. No call.

My AC went out on the 2nd day of a heatwave. Ugh! Within 2 hours of calling, Stay Cool was at my house and the unit was repaired. We could not believe it! Vendors like this are few and far between. Not only was George extremely competent (he knew right away what was wrong) but is one of the most personable and straightforward persons I've ever worked with. Service was immediate !!! Price was extremely reasonable !!! And George was honest and reliable !!! I highly recommend Stay Cool and can't say enough wonderful things about them.

George from Stay Cool really saved us. Our AC died right as the weather was becoming hotter and another HVAC company quoted a very high price to get it working again. We performed a lot of research and comparison shopping and found that Stay Cool offered us the best option. George explained the problem to us clearly, and offered us a quote for only the work we truly needed to have done to get our AC working - not thousands of dollars worth of extra bells and whistles that we did not want or need. George at Stay Cool is the guy to hire for heating and cooling. We had a pair of Mitsubishi ductless splits installed to supplement an old hvac system that didn’t quite get the job done on the second floor. The Mitsubishi units are amazing. We went with hyperheat so we’re ready for any crazy that a New Jersey winter can dish out. They’re so quiet they sound like my noise canceling headphones. Heat is dispersed quickly and evenly. George is the installer. He is the expert to visit your home to answer all of your questions - not some salesman who can’t tell Fujitsu from Carrier. You will see this reflected in your fair estimate. You’re not paying for the salesman’s salary. All the compressor units Stay Cool installs are mounted on brackets a few feet off the ground to protect from snow. (This is the way to go unless you like shoveling to keep your heat on.) Everybody at Stay Cool is professional and friendly. Our home was respected and left immaculate. Leading up to the project George kept me informed about the process, permit progress, and scheduling. They work fast. My only regret is that I didn’t look into this sooner. We spent too many years with a noisy space heater startling us awake at night and fans circulating hot air all summer long.

George and Evan were awesome, explained the work beforehand the work to be done. We’re respectful of the my property and thoroughly explained the system after installation.

I called Stay Cool to repair my mother's gas furnace after reading the excellent reviews here on Angie's List. The furnace had developed an issue where the fan would not stop running. Within minutes after calling Stay Cool, George called me back and said he would stop by my mother's house as soon as he completed the service call he was on. About a half hour after my call George arrived and began diagnosing the problem. He identified a control that was defective and was able to get the furnace working properly until he was able to obtain the part at the warehouse the following day. As promised, George arrived early the next day to install the replacement part. George thoroughly tested the heating and A/C operation before leaving the jobsite. I could not be more satisfied with the service that I received from Stay Cool. Prompt, efficient and expert service was provided. The very reasonable price that was charged for that service was an added bonus. The honesty and ethics of this company were very evident to me. I will recommend Stay Cool to friends, neighbors and family without hesitation.

*** USE. THESE. GUYS. *** If you need a new central air conditioner and/or furnace, these are the guys that you want. Don't even call anyone else. Here's my experience (to add to all the other great ones.) My very old central air conditioner broke last week. Of course these things only break in the summer when it's very hot. We were in a panic and didn't know what to do. It gets unbearably hot in our bedrooms because they are upstairs and it was supposed to be 90 degrees that week. We needed someone fast, but I took the time to read the reviews here so I would get someone I could trust. I read the amazing reviews for this company and decided that they were the ones I wanted because everyone here loves them. Everyone was right, because they were the best contractors I've ever had (and I've done lots of other work on my house). I called them that morning and George returned my call immediately. George and Evan came right away to see what I needed and early the next morning, they were already doing the work, and we had central air again by that evening. It was so fast that I still can't believe it happened. George said he wanted to make sure we didn't go without air over the hot weekend. Thank you, George! The job was done quickly and very professionally. The one other guy I called tried to sell me a lower quality brand of air conditioner. (We read about them on Consumer Reports.) I wanted this company because they seemed to have higher quality products as well as installers. A win win. As soon as he left, I made a long list of all the wonderful things he did for us so I wouldn't forget any. Here it is: He gave us a pump (for free) that helped us avoid a water extraction drainpipe that we've been tripping on for years. They took the time to explain things when we had questions. They fixed the broken furnace emergency shut off switch (that I didn't even know I had). They had way higher quality equipment and installers than other people at a fair price. They did not sub out the job. George and Evan are the ones who showed up and they knew what they were doing. They were very clean. They did not make a mess. They swept when they were done. They protected my new floor with a blanket. They took away all the old stuff. They didn't take breaks at all (not even lunch as I read here from others as well.) They were serious and dedicated. They were extremely friendly people so it was very pleasant to have them around. They gave me a new programmable thermostat and spent the time to show me how to use it. He even set it up for me with what times I like certain temperatures during the week as well as the weekends! George called a few hours after he left to make sure we were comfortable and everything was working. They also worked around my schedule because I had an important appointment pre-scheduled for that day and he worked around it and told me not to cancel and not to worry. Thanks again, George! The new system is wonderful! The air feels fresher and way healthier than before. He also did yet another amazing thing for us. It has always been overly hot in my one daughter's room and we could not figure out why. He looked into it and explained that her vents are not straight from the fan like all the rest. Rather than a costly, invasive repair, he suggested he turns up the air conditioning unit to blow just a little more (who knew they could do that?) and it worked wonders. I asked her how great her room is now on a scale of 1-10 and she says 11!!!! Thank you so much, George!!! She is sleeping more comfortably for the first time in years!! It's definitely worth it to hire these guys! He also said we should try out the air this way for a little while and that he would be happy to come back if we decided that we wanted to change that adjustment back. We really appreciate that. Other great things about George: He actually answers your phone calls, unlike other contractors. He has flexible methods of payment, including credit cards. He gives you a 10 year warranty because he can because he gives you a high quality product and a high quality installation. I read on Consumer Reports that the other guy's brand starts to break down for many people after only five years. (No, thank you.) In summary, George was knowledgeable, professional, honest, fast, neat, and unbelievably skilled. He did what he said plus even more than we asked for and we would hire him again anytime. We are so happy with him and our new system. I hope he's still working far in the future if I ever need a new system again.

My husband and I purchased a new home and there was an addition put on the house back in the nineties that had electric baseboard heating and no air conditioning. We are using this addition as in in-law suite so putting central air and forced hearting into the unit was needed. Excellent work at a great price. Ours was a very challenging job - getting rid of a crazy old system - and the guys at Stay Cool got the job done efficiently, cleanly and nimbly. George was outstanding, he identified an improper setting for the boiler bypass loop and rectified it. He was methodical and careful in all he did, all in all it was a very informative meeting, with plenty of advice and education about our heating system. This was money well spent and I would definitely hire again, we are in very good hands with people like him. Highly recommended!

We wanted to get rid of 3 through the wall a/c units. We called Stay Cool and George the owner and Evan came over that evening and explained the whole process and gave us an estimate. Both George and Evan were very friendly and knowledgeable. We had several other estimates but decided to go with Stay Cool. They showed up every day on time and unlike other contractors they stayed with our job until it was complete. The job itself was done both professionally and neat. The operation of the units was explained fully and all warranty information was sent in by George. He also got us a carpenter to close up the walls where we removed the old a/c units and we are also very happy with that work. All in all I would definitely use them again and would not hesitate to recommend Stay Cool. It was a pleasure dealing with Stay Cool and George and Evan.

George truly is in a class of his own. He is as authentic, honest and friendly as they come and performed excellent work for us that both impressed me and my wife and exceeded our expectations. We were interested in installing central air conditioning in our house and had no existing central AC system. We have baseboard heating and there was no ductwork in the home. We got by for years with two window units on the second floor, one in each bedroom, and two wall units on the main floor. Setting up each window unit in the spring and putting each away or covering it for the winter is such a time consuming hassle. The noise these units make, the inefficiency and substandard air quality just cannot compare to a modern HVAC system. It was really time for us to finally make a change for the better so we looked to Angie's list. There are a lot of reputable companies in central NJ to choose from but I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a contractor of George's caliber. While most of the competition sends a salesperson to estimate the work and explain things in little detail before providing an estimate, George examined the options with us himself and made us feel very comfortable by explaining exactly how many vents we would have (supplies and returns) and the placement of each. He even devised a very clever way to adequately condition the air in the first floor without taking up any wall or closet space, which is at a premium in our small-sized house. George and his dream team of 2 (just him and Evan) executed on everything just as we discussed it during the in-depth free estimate. He literally took care of everything: the permits, the electrician (to meet township code), the warranty, you name it. Both George and Evan are really hard-working guys. We felt sorry at times because they like never take a break, hardly even to eat! I think George takes great pride in his work and it absolutely shows. He says that he performs every job like if it were his own home and he really means it. I woke up Wednesday morning with no central AC in the house and by end of day, all the new equipment was installed and connected. By Thursday afternoon, we were using one zone and by lunch time on Friday, all two zones were fully operational and the job was completely finished. I still can't believe that they did the work so quickly, neatly and as estimated. It's been a few days now since the work has been done and I still go around the house admiring this feat. We are so happy to have found George and Evan from Stay Cool for this project. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and we very highly recommend their service! It went great. George and Evan responded quickly when I told them that one of my rooms did not cool and heat efficiently. Our CA could not cool that room enough due to the original construction of the vent system. To fix that would mean tearing down walls. The unit George installed solved that problem. This is the second time I used Stay Cool and I cannot say enough good things about them.
