Jersey Mortgage

I would never use or recommend this firm to purchase a dog house. I purchased a small 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo and my closing costs were $ 11700.00 which was unheard of. I was originally told the would be around $ 6000 then I got a letter showing they forgot to addd in the escrow for association fees and that brought the costs up to $8300. With in the 3 days up to closing the costs kept changing until 3 hours before closing and I ws told the final amount would be $ 11,700, this is more than I paid for the $500000.00 house I had just sold. I ws appauled if not devestated by the amount. I could not get a straight answer from them as to why the charges kept changing and why they were so much. Getting them to return a phone call was impossible and when I did finally get a call they couldn't keep track of all the lies they had told me.. I certainly wasn't prepared to pay the closing costs that were finally presented to me. The truck was loaded with my furniture and parked in front of the condo and I had no where to go or I would have never gone through with the closing.
Moving is difficult enough but dealing wiith a company that certainly doesn't have your best intereest at heart made this ordeal a nightmare. If you are working with this firm or are considering doing so think twice.

Jersey Mortgage helped me when my bank, Chase, could not. As a veteran I was entitled to a lower interest rate and Chase would not offer it to me. In fact, they wanted me to sign papers to extend an interest rate I did not want. Fortunately, I spoke to people at work who said you don't have to go with your own bank. I found Jersey Mortgage by accident. They were great. Accepted all the paperwork I did for Chase, and I closed in 2 weeks. I did have to do an online home buying class that was surprisingly informative. Usually they seem boring, but this was interactive and done very well.
I would HIGHLY recommend them. They're located off Rt1 close to Princeton and well worth the drive.

As a VETERAN and first time home buyer, you think your bank has your back. Banks are businesses. While purchasing a home can be daunting, CHASE's mortgage lender was polite, kind and informative. In the end, they wanted me to pay to extend a rate I did not want. Everyone at work knew I was purchasing a home. When I explained what was going on they explained I was not obligated to the bank.
JERSEY MORTGAGE was the best thing I could have done for myself. I hope it will be for you too.
