B S K Custom Renovations

At this time, our bank has not received any of the 4 required forms from BSK Custom Renovations. He lead us to believe he had a NJ Contractor's license. He does not have one. He gave us a license number of someone else's business. The only renovation that Brian S Kendler has done at all, has been to take out the flooring and place down a temporary flooring. He cut electrical wires while doing this, so electrical repairs needed to be done at our expense. As far as orchestrating the other contractors, he prematurely called in the drywaller. So the plumbing and electrial changes that BSK agreed to have completed prior to the drywall being hung were never done. Not to mention,we had to remove much of the debri left by BSK ourselves,spending weekends cleaning up after him. He is difficult to reach, has multiple addresses, and rarely answers his cell phone. Brian S Kendler is a great talker and has $20,000.00 of our money. Consider yourself warned.

I was left in a hotel because of the flood damage. I terminated the first contractor because things were not going as quickly as planned and were not professional. This is when BSK stepped in to complete the project. I had a lot of the supplies already purchased. He came out 3 times and worked. In the first 2 days he was so professional and I was so excited to get back in my house. I had kitchen cabinets and appliances in my living room and he figured out where they should go. After the first 2 days he would not answer my calls. I used someone else to try and get in contact with him, and he would sometimes respond to them. This is over a period of 2 months. He still will not respond to me. I have sent letters to him as well, and still no response. I advanced him $5,000. He only has a few days of work left. Because of them, I cannot move onto any other contractor to make necessary repairs. I cannot get a new air conditioning unit or put new carpeting. He won't respond to my phone calls or letters.

A police officer in our town recommended this contractor. On the strength of this impeccable referral, I gave the contractor $1,150 at his request, in order to "get us on the calendar". This job was to begin two days after providing a deposit. After a few months of not showing up to begin work, the finally contractor called me, but only at the police officer's urging; however, he merely promised a start date which he never honored. In March 2009 the NJ Superior Court Judge signed off on an Arrest Warrant for the contractor, a case which I intitiated in Small Claims Court. This contractor never showed up at court, and never responded to any court document, which validates my belief that this contractor specializes in scams. My advice to all potential customers is to not be swayed by this individual's false "earnestness", and to set about finding a different contractor.
