DON’T LET THEY PEOPLE ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR HOME. CALL SOMEONE ELSE IMMEDIATELY!!! THEY LEFT US WITHOUT HEAT FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND DIDN’T DETECT A GAS LEAK THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS! Had Cranbury Comfort in for an emergency heat service call this past weekend. They showed up @ 11 AM, 7 hrs after the call, and then told us they needed parts that they couldn’t get because the supply house close at 12. They charged over $200 for this service call , left us with no heat and said to go buy space heaters for every bathroom, the kitchen and the water meter. They called back on Monday after a brutally cold weekend with a quote for over $1100 and a delay of 3 days to get the parts. We called another technician recommended by family member, and he immediately told us we had a gas leak!!! He showed us the leak he found, and the pressure switch that failed. A $20 part he had in 30 minutes from to local supply shop. Heat back on, without the new fan motor and the list of other part CC told us we needed.

My air conditioner broke and I needed to replace the entire HVAC due to the age of the equipment, from the start this company was the best to work with! I was fortunate enough to qualify for a grant program through my township that would help pay for the replacement but it involved A LOT of paper work and had very specific criteria that had to met. Cranbury Comfort Systems was one of several companies on the list of eligible contractors provided by the program BUT they are the ONLY one where someone answers the phone every time you call and you get the same person, Ginger, not some random call center! Besides that, Ginger was the only one I spoke to who was at all knowledgeable about how these grant programs work and really helped me through the process and was very honest in explaining realistic timelines on when the work could begin due to the grant program requirements, which I truly appreciated. Once we got the approval for the work to begin, she scheduled me as soon as possible and Chris and his colleagues (whose names I can't recall) showed up right on time and were very professional, knowledgeable, skilled, friendly and cleaned up all areas they worked in so well you wouldn't even know I had any work done! Chris thoroughly went over how everything worked and made sure I didn't have any questions before leaving. As a part of the work, they installed a new programmable thermostat...the first one wasn't working quite right, which was no fault of theirs, likely a defective sensor but as soon I called Ginger she had me on the schedule and they came back out and replaced it right away. They installed Trane ac, coil and furnace and the new system is so quiet compared to my old one, sometimes I can't even that it is on! It has been cooling beautifully, I couldn't be happier with Cranbury Comfort Systems. They truly made me feel like a valued customer, not just a job with a check at the end of it. I highly recommend giving them a try and will definitely use the them again should a need arise that they can service.

Heat stopped working so called Cranbury Comfort. I have been using them for a long time and they have installed systems or condenser units in several homes that I owned over the years. They were booked up, but Ginger later had a cancellation and was able to send someone out same day. Ryan quickly diagnosed the problem, but needed a part they don't have in stock. Part arrived in a few days and Ginger did a fantastic job of getting someone to me before the weekend as she said she didn't want us to go without heat in the forecasted lower temps. Ryan installed the part quickly and we were up and running. I have called other places in the past and Cranbury Comfort has been the one that came through for me a few times where I had no AC in the summer heat. They always provide great service, I don't use anyone else now.

I still haven't received my inspection. They are supposed to get my township approval in the inspection. That has not been done yet. The install is fine.
Response from Cranbury Comfort Systems
"Hi [Member Name Removed], We just checked our records and see that we received the processed permits from the township and mailed them to you on 1-6-15. If you can't find them and need copies please call the office at 609-758-5600 and we would be happy to send them. Once you have copies its as easy as calling your township construction department and scheduling for the inspections. You need to be there to give them access. I apologize if there was any confusion on the process. If you have any questions please call. Make it a Great Day! Larry"

The service was quick and worked well. However, the service man didn't explain the charge before performing the job. The fix was easy. However, It was expensive to have something fixed in 5 mins with a bill of $300, although we have a service agreement with them. It would be better to let me know the price before fixing, so I can either do it by myself or ask for a less expensive option.

Superb service -n- sales. Our previous gas heater stopped working shortly after November 2014, when the outside temperatures began to steadily dropped. The service call was answered promptly, with the visit by their technician soon after. The problem was identified and a solution proposed within an hour of arrival. Our previous unit was manufactured in 1985, so my wife and I decided to ask Cranbury Comfort for a replacement estimate. The cost was affordable and the installation completed within a few hours on the scheduled day.

They were very polite and punctual. However, I was hoping that my problem of having my 2nd floor being colder than the first floor would be rectified after they fulfilled the deal. They said that once they tuned up the furnace and cleaned it, I'd see a difference. Unfortunately, I still don't notice a difference in my second floor temperature.
Response from Cranbury Comfort Systems
"Hi [member name removed], The service we performed on you gas furnace was to insure the proper, safe operation of your heater. We check all safeties, adjust gas pressures as necessary, check the ignition, measure the flame sense rod and check the heat exchanger. Typically when you have a problem with air flow to other areas it has to do with the duct work. Sometimes you will have dampers that are closed or just poor installation from the builder. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Having a furnace running in perfect order will never overcome improper ductwork or poor duct design. There are possibly some additional things that can be done and diagnosed but it would require another visit. We are expert in all types of duct repair and I'm sure we would have some type of solution. Thank You, Larry House, President, Cranbury Comfort Systems"

Larry came out to do the Big Deal furnace inspection.  He recommended drawing air from the outside to the furnace to reduce condensation on my air supply ducts during air conditioning season.  He also recommended a UV air scrubber that controls mold, some viruses and dust.  The price to install the PVC pipe, I have no idea because I have nothing to compare it to, but I thought the cost of piping the PVC pipe from the furnace to the outside of the house was pricey at $725.  I had everything done that has been mentioned prior.  I can't fault the workmanship or punctuality.  They are certainly personable to do business with.

I noticed my heat was running, but no hot air coming from the vents.     I cycled the thermostat and that fixed the problem once, but then it happened again.
I called Cranbury Comfort Systems early on March 28 and left a message with call center.   I was called back within an hour, and scheduled an appointment for later that day.
Technician arrived, inspected furnace and found faulty part.   He replaced a bad ignitor.    System has been working perfectly every since.
Technician was very friendly and courteous, and cleaned up his work area.

.The PM work that was done was pricey, but not bad.
My issue with the company is on the charge and what they did with my breaker. and electrical.  He wired the outside condenser to a 50 amp breaker  and said that would fix the problem for the short term.  What he did NOT tell me is the wire being used wasn't even right for the 30 amp breaker it was hooked up to.  It was a 10 gauge wire that was not big enough in the first place, and to put it on the 50 amp breaker ended up causing some much more serious problems.  I asked the repairman if the switch he did was safe and he said it shouldn't cause any problems, just to call an electrician in the future or change out the breaker.  Being an authorized Trane dealer and seeing that the wiring wasn't even big enough to run on the 20 amp breaker should have been something that he saw and put forth as part of the fix right away.  I was charged close to $200 for the diagnoses fee and the breaker wiring alone when he should have not even considered performing that fix.
Fast forward a week later, my dryer tripped, I went to change out the breaker and noticed how hot the breaker was I was pulling out as i was going to change both the AC and Dryer breaker.    There was sizzling going on in my box and I immediately called an electrician.  He came out and  fist looked at what the AC repair person did and could not believe that he put a 10 gauge wire on a 50amp breaker that the label on the AC unit specifically stated was a MAX of 30 amps.
As my box was aging and I had some other problems, he ended up changing out my entire box and upgrading me to a 200 amp box.  He did all of this work on the same day and said I was luck that a fire wasn't started from the earlier repair.  The electrician put in a larger wire, correct 30 amp breaker to the condenser and it cost me another $540 just to do that.
Comfort systems did an adequate job cleaning my unit, but failed miserably at fixing a problem and actually made things worse.  For the $450 I spent, I ended up spending $3500 on a new box and electrical work.  I am not sure if it will do any good to even contact Cranbury comfort, but wanted to make sure to mention there service here on Angies List.
Also you have there address and phone number listed incorrectly

Response from Cranbury Comfort Systems
"The National Electric code will allow you to run 10 gauge wire for 30 amp devices within the proper length. This AC unit has a minimum circuit ampacity of 25 amps and a max of 35 amps. I do not know why you were told that the wire was too small a gauge. 12 gauge wire would have been too small, not 10 gauge. The wire was OK for this application. Since the ac unit was connected to a disconnect box we felt it safe to make the temporary change as noted on our service ticket in order to get your ac running on a hot day. Our service ticket also noted that you call an electrician to change the faulty breaker. I'm sorry for the added work that you were charged to do. Our opinion was that you only needed a new breaker to fix the one that was broken. I'm sure the electrician had good reasons to replace the panel especially if he saw that the breakers were getting hot. If the ac unit continued to operate after the electrical panel was changed then it would make sense that the compressor was not drawing excessive power at all."

WE WEREN'T ANGRY ABOUT THE PROBLEM, BUT IT WAS AN INCONVENIENCE TO BE WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING IN THE HEAT OF SUMMER. THE COMPANY FIXED THE ISSUE PROMPTLY ONCE IT WAS FIGURED OUT PROPERLY.
