Nowak Air Systems, Inc.

Description of Work: I first had an experience with Nowak Air Systems when I added a second level to my personal residence in 2010 and my general contractor used them for all the new plumbing - three full bathrooms, including jetted tub and tying in seamlessly into the existing plumbing. They also installed multi-zoned Central Air system. I was impressed with the quality of their work and their punctuality (arrive for work at 7:30am!) and professionalism. When I purchased an investment property in 2012, there was an issue we discovered at closing where there seemed to be an issue with the sewer pipe. I called in Roto Rooter initially and they provided an estimate of several thousand dollars, not including the possibility of needing to rip up the basement floor to fix a "possibly" damaged sewer line. I thought of Marek, owner of Nowak Air Systems and called him over to take a look and also provide an estimate. He indicated that the issue (something with the stack and where PVC? had replaced cast iron) was likely due to system not having been used on a regular basis and causing some condensation outside the original cast iron pipe. He said he didn't think that should be anything to be worried about immediately and just keep an eye on it. It has been a year since then, and true to his suggestion, there has been no issue with tenants regularly utilizing the system. Long story short, he saved me several thousands of dollars of repair. In late 2012, I purchased another investment property. This property originally had baseboard heat, but all the copper piping had been stolen. My contractor had provided an estimate for replacing with forced hot air system including central air based on an HVAC company he was working with, but I would have to negotiate directly with the HVAC company since my contractor was only going to be working on demo, sheetrock, paint, trim, etc. In discussions with the other HVAC company, I once again thought about Nowak Air Systems and called them in for a quote as well. Their quote was about 25% higher than the other HVAC company, but based on my knowledge of their work (first hand in my own residence), and not wanting to have to deal with any issues down the road, I decided to choose them anyway (and for an investment property at that!). I suppose the moral of this story is that ultimately you get what you pay for, and while Nowak Air Systems may not be the cheapest, their quality of work will definitely be among the best. They (mainly Valdik and Marek) yet again installed a complete HVAC system - new furnace with direct vent and all new duct work, hot water heater, new full bathroom tying into existing lines again, and fixing some water lines that had frozen and burst. I highly recommend them for these types of services.
