About us

Kaplan Architecture, LLC's goal is to interpret the clients' needs and desires into a design that communicates a spatially creative solution. I typically present the client with one design which I believe best solves the problem at hand. If the initial design is not as the client perceived it in his or her mind's eye, I present an alternative or modified design. Different architects with the same mandated client program and palette of materials will have different results, which vary from masterful, to mediocre. My background as owner of both union and non-union design + build commercial construction companies, as architect, and as interior design architect give me a large advantage to how I can mold my designs in order to produce beautiful results, for the right construction price.

Bobby Kaplan is very professional and highly experienced. He provided very sound advice and was very helpful with creative ideas and the best use of space, function and form. He also assisted on his own time in tracking down stone to match our facade. He was able to deliver an excellent work product on time under a tight schedule. We highly recommend Bobby Kaplan.

He is slow and late in his delivery of design. He does not listen to what I want and has to change the drawing which then adds time to completion. As for revising the drawing needed for the board, he will not do it unless you make full payment first. I feel he is just for the money. The quality of drawing is sub-par considering the amount that is paid. There is no visual presentation (like pictures sort of). He always insist on a particular design even the type and brand of windows even though I expressed several times that is not my design ethics and not the company I want.

We met to discuss overview of project. He provided me with an education. He also gave me sound advise on all aspects of building an addition. Unfortunately I have to put my project on hold for 6-12 months but I will call him in the future.

I hired him in Feb. to do plans for a single rectangular room addition a "family room". It is now the end of May and although I have finally received the finalized blueprints there things that I asked for that has not been incoporated into the final plans. Bobby Kaplan works in Bobby Kaplan time, in other words my project does not seem to be a top priority and he is resistant to do what I want in planning my home addition. The final plans reflect that he is not listening to my wishes and I am very very dissatisfied with his work and the time which he works in.
