I am very impressed with the quality of work Organic Dutchman provides. Since I had a dog, I wanted to be careful what products and procedures were done to my lawn. As a former Science teacher, I am very aware of the effects of products routinely put on lawns. I can feel completely confident in the work, the product, and the professionals I have dealt with in this company. I take pride in how my lawn looks and yet, had to feel it is safe for my pet. The man that came to fertilize my lawn was very cordial and was always on time, he never left a mess and conducted himself very professionally including the application of the fertilizers itself, and I will be continuing with the service again this year because my lawn looked good last year.

Extremely Pleased!!! Have been using this company for 3 years now. My property is unique as it slopes downhill to a large pond filled with bass, trout, blue gill, carp and frogs. Conventional fertilizers created an unsightly algae bloom which eventually caused many fish to die due to poor oxygen levels in the water. The Organic Dutchman has actually reversed this causing a fish boom and much less algae in the water. My lawn looks incredible, as it did with conventional fertilizer and I no longer have to worry about my children and pets tracking chemicals throughout our home. Harmen and his team are professional and very friendly to deal with. They always take time to answer questions making sure I understand the options completely. If for some reason, they aren't sure about something, they research and always follow up with great advice. I find their prices very reasonable and look forward to their visit each month.

With children and our dog often playing on the grass, we thought it was best to use an organic fertilization company for our lawn. We're glad we did. The Organic Dutchman uses all natural products and that's a big relief knowing that there are no harmful chemicals.

Buyer Beware. This company is a farce. The Organic Dutchman only pretends to do the work. I am a teacher so I am home during the summers. He leaves signs that he was here, but in the 2 years we used him, I only witnessed a man ONCE WALKING behind a spreader. Time spent on our 1 acre lot = 10 minutes! (Our new, reputable company spends 1.5 hours on a riding/motorized spreader.) After the first year the lawn look slightly worse. After the second year, it looked horrid. Also, we emailed a few times to ask what was applied and the question was circumvented with an answer like: Spring Treatment No. 1. Saying that I do NOT recommend this company is an understatement. They should not be in business.

"We are sorry that the client is not happy, but after talking to our technician we understand the misunderstanding and confusion at hand. The technician who performs the various seasonable visits, often does not complete all products/procedures at the same day and therefore comes back and once the monthly procedures are completed, leaves a professional note stating this. By example when seeding is involved, the crabgrass and weed preventers should not be applied the same day, because the seeds would then also be prevented from germinating."

We have been using the Organic Dutchman for 8 years now and are very happy with the results. Our lawn is full and green and virtually weed free. Before we started using the company, we did not have much of a lawn. Bare spots and weedy. We did not want to use chemicals because we have kids and dogs, so we tried the Dutchman. Within a season they turned the mess it was into the nice lawn it is now. I do highly recommend them.

Harmon and his team have been great . We just started using them this year . Our lawn was not in great shape when we hired them but it continues to look Better and better after each treatment and it’s all organic and safe for kids to play in yard . They are very responsive to questions/concerns and I would recommend them if you have kids/pets using yard or just don’t want to use aggressive chemicals.

I've been using Organic Dutchman for maybe 6 years now and I never intend on stopping. Quality and professionalism are paramount and they are always quick to respond to my requests and concerns. My whole family even love seeing Harmen when he comes. In the beginning I was apprehensive about my results, but I trusted Herman and I was patient. It has paid off. If strict organic standards are important to you and your family, this is the company for you.

I work from home so I can see when vendors come and what they do. When I did see the lawn care person come, he was barely there for 5 minutes, did a few zigzags on the front lawn, missed the back and then pulled 2 weeds. Whenever I contacted them about what was done, they were responsive and assured me things were done, but I know what I see. I asked for the seeding to be done twice because I could not see any seeds in the bare spots or any disturbed ground from the raking. Don't bother. It's expensive and you might as well do it yourself. It's better than paying a lot of money for someone to come do almost nothing.

"We all have tried to explain to this client that seeds are raked into the soil and especially after rain, you do not see the seeds. When we do soil testing and the test tells us we have to add certain products in front or back lawn, we come back and do just that. If the client saw that particular part of service, communication is key. We do our best but sometimes we can communicate better. We mean well and having approximately 800 happy clients, after 30 plus years in business, working hard and staying 100% organic and safe, we deserve good and fair reviews."

Great job. They always deliver what they promise but I must note that organic lawn care is a patient process because they are not using artificial means to "green" your lawn. It's great to know your lawn is safe for your children and pets.

We started using them for organic lawn care 2 years ago...WHAT A MISTAKE. The lawn is now nothing but crabgrass and weeds. After one year the lawn was look fair and he said it just needed another year. When I asked about using something for the crab grass, he said definitely not it would ruin all the work he did....Now, I don't even have grass, all I have is crabgrass and weeds..
My lawn looked better when I nothing...I suspect all I am doing is feeding weeds

"We did not start 2 years ago. We started only 1 year ago and after a season of uncooperating weather, we indeed recommended the client to stay the course of true and safe organics. We will NOT use a quick fix of chemicals, poison or pesticides. We will never do chemical lawn care. This is our principle and we stick to that. Most clients do respect this from us. We ask very politely to have patience. We do the best we can and with patience and all hands on deck, nearly always the lawns will respond very well. This is not a chemical approach and we make that very clear from the start. People can not have their cake and eat it too always. By the way when we started with this client's lawn, the lawn had already crabgrass and weeds in it. Patience is key here !"

I suspect they never did a thing and just bill you! . They never let us know when service was taking place. The lawn looks horrific! Weeds everywhere, burned areas, and lots of damage.

"This is typical. We started with a lawn which was totally infested with weeds and clover. If I could buy a bag for $ 30.- and put the poison chemical on, I guess we would be millionaires. We do NOT do that ! Organics takes time and when a lawn is totally infested, it can take some time. Mowing at a high setting is a must and clients have to work with us on that as well. Same thing with using a catcher behind the mower. It is important in organic lawn care and we explain all this when needed. We always leave notes or ring doorbells or call people in advance. We do not deserve these kind of bad reviews."

After landscaping the entire backyard, the sod we put down didn’t take and half the yard was almost gone six months later. Wewere sure we were going to have to take out trees to allow more light. Organic dutchman saved the day and we have a great lawn where I thought it would be impossible.

Within a few months of hiring him, Mr. Voss started hounding me for a payment that I had made. I pay on-line and had evidence taht I had paid it and he had cashed the check. I tried numerous times to reach him to remedy the situation but it took several weeks for him to get back to me. He never once apologized for his error. I should have fired him at that point.
After one year, my formerly beautiful back lawn was a mess. I understood that
we had had a terrible summer and therfore kept Mr. Voss for the second year. The second year it got even worse. We had another hot, dry summer but after a few rains, everyone else's lawn came back and mine did not. A neighbor told me that it looked
like grub damage. Mr. Vos had just done a treatment, and the bill said he had seeded it. I called Mr. Voss to discuss why the lawn looked so bad. He said it was not grubs, just the result of a hot, dry summer. I asked him why he had not communicated in
any way, given the state of lawn and he had no answer. He then added
that he had seeded and done other things and didn't charge me. I didn't
ask what other things since I had determined to end the contract anyway. I later
went out with the dogs and did not see any evidence of any seeds. I
got the bill for the treatment the next day and it showed a $75 charge
for overseeding and $134 charge for aeration. So he did charge me even though he said he did not. Aeration was not in my
contract and there was no evidence of any seeding or aeration. I am out
with my dogs every day and had been looking at the lawn daily. I am
also an avid golfer and would know if turf had been aerated. I called
Mr. Vos the next day and brought this to his attention. I told him that
I would pay the normal service fee and nothing more and he agreed so
readily that I knew he had not done the services! I then sent him a
certified letter ending our contract immediately because I had lost
all trust in him as a business person. I got two separate
estimates on the lawn from other companies, both of them confirming major grub damage and both
costing about $500 to fix. I sent a letter at the time to the Better Business Bureau containing all of this information but did not ask for any money back from Mr. Voss. I just wanted to be done with him.

After 2 years, what had been a a lawn in "middling" condition had turned into 90% weeds. Charges were made for seedings that I found no evidence of having been applied, neither seeds nor new growth were visible. After canceling my service via email, billings continued. I was then told that the contract was self-renewing until Organic Dutchman received notice of cancellation via certified mail, as per contract.

First, I want to explain that I've carefully studied how organic lawn care works and realize that you must be patient in order to develop a rich lawn that will get rid of weeds as the turf gets stronger. With the combination of the eight applications that this company did and the rain we had last year, our lawn is beautiful. It's even better this year.
We have wells where we live and our children and dog enjoy playing in the grass. I think it's a no-brainer. Why would I put harmful chemicals on our property where we get our water and where our kids and dog play. It's common sense. I'm not a die-hard environmentalist but I think it is practical to be careful when applying chemicals and pesticides especially where the children and dog play. I hear so many stories about dog owners who let their pet play in chemically-treated lawns. Then years later, their dogs develop tumors and other strange illnesses.
Based on how great our lawn looks and how this 100% organic service performs, we are very happy and recommend them strongly.

They were very nice but I didn't find it very effective. It didn't kill the weeds. I've used them for 3 years and my lawn isn't any better. I wasn’t ever there when they showed up and I never really spent much time with them. I paid about $600 per year. I would not use them in the future. I thought the organic would be more effective than it was.
