"Every part of the contract was completed. all work was completed as per the contract. Sadly, i encourage bad reviews when my crew does not do a proper job or we do not uphold our agreement. over 20,000 clients in New Jersey and still going strong and work is mainly based on referrals. The pictures she put up on the website are correct. The customer wanted the CHEAPEST PRICE possible. we have options for restoration as well, the customer stated "i'm not spending any more money, let my buyer worry about it." Because everything she stated is false, we are in process of a lawsuit. It is sad, but she did not mention that everything that was done was as per her request and our agreement."
"sadly, the customer had the tank previously abandoned and filled with sand. upon inspection, the city inspector failed the tank because the tank had holes in it. The soil samples were over the cleanup criteria requiring extensive remediation. The realtor was happy that we did the job timely after the soils samples failed and met the deadlines. The bottom line is we are professional, 20 years in business and we give upfront pricing. customers think because someone did an abandonment 20 year prior, that we are the ones [Member Information Removed] fault when the state requires more work due to the leak not being found earlier."
"Mr. [Removed member name], Thank you very much for taking the time to provide a review of our company. We are delighted you were pleased with our crew and our services. It was an excellent review and we thank you!"
"Mr. [Member name removed], Thank you very much for taking the time to post a very positive review. We are delighted you were happy with out services, and glad you will keep us in mind and refer us to others who may be in need of our services."
tank was properly closed 30 years ago, but rules change.
now its best to pull it out.
tank came out ok, but holes in bottom, so had to test soil. Some samples said to be tainted, so re-test those same samples. This time came out clean. Additional cost, but relieved in end not to require more extensive remediation
in basement. They immediately cleared the water, called in a plumber and electrician and resolved the
problem. A lesser company could not have done what they did as expeditiously and effectively, Plus
the people they called were knowledgeable and proficient. When I had one minor concern, they handled
it immediately.
Very impressive operation!!
"FALSE REVIEW The person who wrote this review was not our client and never has been. The work was contracted through the Realtor and owner who was out of the country. The owner was given options and asked for other options to keep cost down. The agreed with the scope of work and for a basic plan to get the project completed. we were paid in full and to the owners and realtors satisfaction. The so called delays in getting the work completed are due to the timing of acquiring permits through teh New Jersey Department of Environmental protection to install a well near wetlands. There are also mandatory waiting periods between pumping and sampling which the buyer who wrote this did not understand. Our proposal stated, fence etc to be replaced by others. The excavation was to be filled with stone, as per NJDEP requirements. Owner did not request to have site restored with Topsoil. we will gladly complete other work that was offered if we are compensated as per agreement."
One of the contractors I called was SREC and I left my information with someone. Not long afterward I got an email asking if I had any pictures I could send, which I did gladly. I got a call pretty much right away asking if they could come out and take a look at the unit in order to quote. They gladly found a convenient time for me, which was before I left for work. Steve came out and did the estimate. It was a Friday and he asked if he could get back to me on Monday with the written quote, I said no problem. Friday afternoon I had the quote and Monday I was calling them back to set up an appointment. I found both Steve and Cheryl to be friendly and very responsive to both phone calls and emails (my preferred way of communicating).
A proposal and agreement was emailed to me. I had some changes I wanted to make before signing it and they accepted the changes, which mostly pertained to items that were included (pro forma) that did not pertain to my job. Contract signed on Friday, work scheduled for Monday. I was told someone would be at my house between 8am and 9am to start the work.
At 8:30am they started the work. The unit needed to be cut open first and then emptied. They had thought they might be able to suction the contents out but the media had thickened up too much so they need to remove everything manually. It was messy and, much to everyone's surprise, the bottom of the filter was filled with rocks. In total, the contents filled three and a half 55-gallon drums.
The crew was courteous, friendly, and more than willing to explain what the status was when I came done to check things out, very polite, and performed an unexpectedly tougher job well. They not only did a great job removing the filter, they cleaned the entire area up, including the stairs and entranceway to the basement. When they left, it was as if they, and the filter, was never there.
Two very minor things of note. First, the arrangement called for the three pipes leading from the filter to the old pool to be cut and capped. There was a misunderstanding here and the pipes were cut flush against the wall, filled, and cemented shut. It accomplishes the same end, so no harm no foul. The second thing, again, minor, is that the crew did not have a ladder that would reach a outdoor vent pipe on the first floor roof that was to be capped. One of the crew members came back the next morning and capped it. Neither of these things were of real consequence.
I have already recommended SREC to others. I found them here on Angie's List and the prevailing overwhelmingly positive reviews are what had me call them, plus their proximity to my home.
I've already let my friends know if they ever need someone, they should call you guys. I'm very happy with the job they did and would never hesitate to contact them again. In fact, they also do stone work, so they're on my list to call when I'm ready redo my front walk and steps.
He called a short while before and said he would be half an hour late. I was flexible on timing and the current homeowner was gracious and accommodating enough to be home later as well so we assured Mr. Rich it was fine.
I was upstairs waiting, on the phone, when he showed up (30 minutes late) and since it is a large house we did not see each other right away. He apparently conducted the sweep and when I walked to the front door looking to see if he had arrived yet, he met me outside and informed me unpleasantly that he was done and was owed payment immediately. When I commented (with a smile) that I had not even been aware he was on the property and I needed to go get my checkbook, he informed me again rudely that it needs to be taken care of quickly as he is running late (which was not my fault nor my problem). After Mr. Rich left the current homeowner commented that he had also been rude and unpleasant to the homeowner.
He charged $200.00 for a 7-10 minute inspection.
I won't be using oil tank inspection services again soon and I regret hiring this business. I would much rather have paid someone courteous and professional.
Great service , great crew. All businesses should be run this way.
