RAYMOND THE PAINTER

First off, Ray is a very nice guy. He finished the job in the estimated time, and even rushed at the end because I had company visiting. However, while some of the paint job was great (the work he did at the beginning) the work he did at the end of the job lacked in quality. I found he was not using a drop cloth, so I have speckles of white paint on my NEW brown tile floor. My sliding door has swipes of white paint all over the non-painted black plastic parts. He didn't tape between a blue wall and a white wall, so there is a fuzzy edge where the roller rolled white paint over corner of the blue wall. He touched up some of the blue wall with what looks like semi-gloss paint over eggshell, which resulted in shiny brush marks everywhere. This is all touch-up work that I will have to re-do myself. Like I said, it wasn't all bad. Somebody walking in might not notice all the flaws, but I do.

We had been trying to paint for some time. We had Raymond out for an estimate several months ago, but my husband felt we couldn't spend the money at that time. When we asked Raymond to come back he was so nice, patient, and professional and worked with us to get the colors and textures we wanted. His second estimate seemed a little high, but we went ahead. Halfway through he realized he made an error and told us and offered to do work we didn't think we would be able to afford. Not only that, but, we think he did more than he should have. His son works with him, and it was a pleasure having these two professionals in our home. They were fast but thorough and cleaned thoroughly after their work.
